True Sinti music played by one of the Masters of the genre. Tchavolo's eccentric phrasing and originality far surpasses any of the non poetic lick meisters and speed demons who unfortunately dominate the Gypsy Jazz scene today.
+Tony Green - exactly. I find so many of what folks consider the 'best' players to have one 1/4 passion that Tchavolo has. Since when does the number of notes make the best music. Tchavolo is fast - judiciously. It's his improvisation of the melody - his respect for the melody that make him phenomenal. I think he's truer to Django's sensibilities than most.
Yeah, I think Tchavolo has great technic, most important thing is the rhythm and he does have really tight-precise timing, and every phrase is playing is really melodic, like Django could be... and those chords rolls are great!! That's why his solos are never boring.
Portuguese Fado from Amalia is kinda similar to the traditional greek bouzouki music. Greek bouzouki reminds me more of fado music style from Portugal. I'm half portuguese and half german and in germany I went sometimes to a greek restaurant with my friends and I've eaten greek food: greek salad, tzaziki, gyros and greek yogurt. I love greece, the language, their culture, mithology and bcs I'm half portuguese, I love that you are surrounded by the ocean, and you eat seafood. Portuguese eat also seafood and we have a lot of beaches here, so it seems like there's some similarities in those cultures, and I want to learn more about greece, the language too because we use words in many languages that derived from greece and latin. So I want to learn both languages. So I want to learn latin so I can understand all latin speaking countries including portuguese, because my portuguese is really bad, but I can speak basic portuguese. but I speak german fluently though, because I was born and raised there for twenty years. This Sinti music reminds a little bit of the traditional greek music but the difference is that the sounds of the greek instrument is sharper than this one, I can't explain it with words, also this music gets more faster and happier if I may say so, as the greek traditional bouyouki and the portuguese fado instrumentalwise. Spain also has similar sounds to it as well.
@@suzannelafertin2472 I never said that Sinti music is the same as the greek traditional bouyouki, I also don't speak french, I just google translate it...
