I'm actually glad that this game is taking such a DIFFERENT approach to online shooters. Finally we aren't some huge, steroid-pumped thug, cybernetic superhuman, or standard soldier like we see in every other shooting game that people play online. (Gears of War, Halo, CoD, Unreal Tournament, Bad Company, Star Wars, etc.) It's nice to see something new like this. Looks fun, too ^.^
They brought over YuGiOh and Pokemon and Shaman King as well. And I kinda meant to include all other shows in that vein. Don't get me wrong, it looks very clean and polished, no doubt. I just feel that this particular look (raver clothes, "cool" poses, neon weapon effects, blue and pink hair) is just kind of unimaginative and safe. I fully expected thumbs down because I'm being critical of something a lot of people like, but hey, its not like I'm being rude about it.
The only think i took on from K-Style was the advanced dagger techniques which helped you jump around from wall to wall easier or climb a lot faster. But even then, those weren't mucking about with the game mechanics. I got called a 'sprayer' a lot, simply for the fact i used a machine gun. But i wasn't trigger-happy and i actually aimed rather than hope to 'get lucky'. Besides, this 'sprayer' can get a better kill/death ratio than most K-Stylers i have ever comes across in my entire life!
Cannot agree with this more. I chose to play the way it was meant to be played: As a thrid-person shooter, using guns - not prancing about the place like a cricket on steroids while gaining a severe hand-ache at the same time. K-Style = Korean style = Abusing the game physics and not playing the game how it was DESIGNED to be played. E-style = European style = The third-person-shooter typical standard, and how it should be played. This, has gotten me incredibly interested now.
@RyoIsTHERE forgot cuz i didnt play for a while so it might be wrong ... but it's like COD ... your team is blue and the opponents are red. and if one is not in your team then there's no name above. If your killed you get respawed but HAVE to wait like 3 secs? the object is to kill. You can choose a char there's like a shop and you get 3 chars but u have to be high lvl to unlock them. each...
@getty2go92 Korean, at one point the EU version did have the death screams (I think when Colosseum came out) but then the next patch they removed them again.
I realize that this was over a month ago, but having a server that can only hold around 100 does not count as "alive"... tell me, what kind of people still play it? do they say "nub team" or "spammer team" all the time? then its considered dead.
I don't get the point of having anchor in Death Match except for snipers who want to get on the top of the post comment if you know a good way to use anchor in DM
its so sad i download it and i can play but after the 1st half of a match my desktop turns black cant see shit but i hear my gun firing sound if i press the button.

Gunz takes nothing but knowing Glitching & SS & taking advantage of the game system to win....that's all. Seriously people, play and know a good game when you see & play one. Gunz was good at its time but times have changed and people can see just how broken it is.
Of course, comparison to Gunz is inevitable. But I won't ding this until I try. It does look fun though. It looks more focused on gunplay, but then again this is still beta. As for K-Style: I don't use it and can still beat a guy to Swap-Shots his two shotguns if I keep my distance and hit him with revolvers. And I don't care if I get owned in Gunz, its just a game.
its completely untrue you can move faster and better in this game than in gunz... in guns all you have to do is spam alot with WASD but this game you actually have to do moves...
i remember in the old days when you had to be good to become good in the game, now all you gotta do is buy AP and OP weapons wich kills you easily, i remember some years ago, i could always 1 hit with plasma sword, these days i can never even damage half of the hp with a crit with plasma sword wich is AP...... s4 is dead
First thought: "Wow, its Gunz but prettier!" Well, actually I don't think its pretty. But where Gunz ranked -5 with its Matrixy leather coats and pathetic "hardcore" aesthetic, this just barely beats that with -4 for its 4Kids anime look and excessive use of neon. For some perspective on why I think those games are ugly (this is purely graphic, mind you). COD4 gets a 4 for being impressive but not very fun to look at. TF2 gets a perfect 5 for having original, functional, and fun design.
Yeah, you're right Ballonboy, those damn hackers, they are destroying the S4 League, and i love that game, i was playing before, but i can't play it again, so i downloaded again but, is taking a lot of time to load the game :/
@DarkShadow5411 I fixed it~ ^_^ When you start the game, make sure you select the correct flag for your country at the bottom of the window. Then hit Start for the game itself. This should fix the issue.
@metalsnake27 Liking the game, there's some odd graphical errors on my system though~ like I can't see the Ready or Inventory buttons in the menu, nor the slots. No idea how to fix it either~ the game is fun tho.

I've been playing this since I got an account from a friend of mine. S4 League is indeed very addictive and OH SO Better than that crap of a game, Gunz. The music really keeps me in the game along with the hectic gun fighting and such and its just faster. Definetly worthed playing if anyone gets the chance to.
Gunz is not a "Noob-Friendly" game. Thats why I pefer this. I was a lvl 25 in gunz until I lost interest. all the glitchers, and lagers turned me off. (And K Styling messed with my hands...)Gunz was all about abusing glitches and hacks. No Hp bar to show how much hp someone has. so u could never know if someone was hacking or not... This game dominates...
@larrybrown45454 well the thing is, its pretty decent i guess there are some problems however ive seen some old hacks come back like million shot fires and godmode but listen.... i encourage u to play it and try it out though many pros are in rookie server. have fun =)
man ping in this game sucks! I join a blue-pinged server and after a minute or so my ping gets very high and i cant kill people, and they cant kill me :| everyone starts having a red thing on their heads and you cant kill them...

@coloradooo3 Yeah nice tips, that is very useful. I think i've met a couple of people using those things. However, i prefer to use a set of: 1 Semi-Rifle, 1 Sub-machine Gun and 1 Plasma Sword... With Detect.
What i've learned about this game is that; are there 2 vs you, then run the eff outta there... One will go shooting at you, and the other will try to melee you...Either you chose to attack, the other will kill you. Good vid =)

@JoesEpicAdventures yo hackers suck check this infinate health hack can be beaten with plasma sword charge. shoot though walls just has to be avoided. one shot kill can be beaten by people good with anchers and team work. and speed hack doesnt help if you arent good enough. to fight expireanced players. o and that onfinate health while chaser can be beaten by thouging the off the edge if there is a edge. trust me hackers are easy to beat if you know how meow. :3
a strategy that generally works on this map: control the roofs, if you control the biggest building inside it, on the outside of it and on the roof you can always find something to kill and if you control the ground around the highest building and the roof of the highest building they will have great difficulty reaching you ( you will need: wings, rifle, sniper rifle ( any ) and for the 3rd weapon i usually pick revolver but any weapon works )
This game is more or less like gunz, the differences is that, you can jump right in and start fighting without fear of getting raped too hard, and leveling up doesn't change that much, its based more in skill, its also easier to play and has less of a learning curve, also SP is consumed when you dash, walljump, or dodge. If you dont have any SP, forget living for more than a couple seconds unless your behind the lines.
There's quite a lot of weapons i thought! On par with other games of a similar style atleast. Also, KS4 has more weapons/skills. But then again, that's off-beta and who knows, we may have those additions by the time they bring out the true version. 3 i can think of from the top of my head are: * Storm Bat * Claw needle... thing (a bit like Mind Shock) * Cloaking - Skill And ofcourse, more levels!

Lol, honestly I don't know why you guys diss GunZ so much and especially them KStylers. I started MAIET GunZ Beta as a sprayer, and honestly, I thought it sucked ass. Rolling and spraying with Renards, not so fun. Then I got into KStyling and that made the game so much more interesting. Really, if the game was meant to be played rolling and shooting then they would've removed all the glitching. Which... I'm thinking the game wouldn't exist today without.
Okay why is this GunZ Vs S4? The game genre is the same but the game play for each is very different. GunZ is much faster than this but S4 is slow yet fast, look at the dash in this game it looks like slow motion. Saying that it's somehow fast! It's also very addictive, I really like this game and I love GunZ. Good thing about S4 is that you can play both 1st and 3rd person, I think 3rd person is better, it also has a capture the flag mode which is very intense. Anyone who plays this PM me.
When your computer restarts during a game that means BSOD (You bluescreened). By default, most computers are set to just restart the computer instead of displaying the blue screen with the error message. To actually find out the real issue, change the setting and bluescreen again to get the error message. Then you can disect the problem.
This is an awesome game, except for one crucial flaw. The characters move so slow it's like they have midgets holding onto their ankles. It's so damn easy to shoot people because nobody can move out of the way quick enough. There's no reason for it being that slow. If everything was about .5x faster, this game would own.
i played gunz for about a year at a time a few times, got decent skill... it was interesting, but that doesnt mean there cant be other games of the same type that are better :P havent tried s4, just found out about it, and im looking forward to giving it a go. different people different tastes :P absolute rule of life
I wouldn't call the K-Style in GunZ a glitch, or anything using sword-techniques such as the butterfly, but it's deffinetely mucking around the mechanics of the game and abusing the speed of which animations change/take affect. I just started playing this last night (only got past the tutorial) and it seems pretty slick.
Notice that anyone who sais anything remotely bad about GunZ gets a thumbs down? Ha ha, pathetic really. Especially since we are giving reasons and facts, not just saying "it's crap" like most people do. I LIKE GunZ. I'd still play it if the torrent loaded. Kstyling, KS, korean style or Kstyle, is just what GlebGuy said: a different style of playing, that annoys another players, very unpredictable. I personally hate it, but i can duel on the same level with them with my Dstyle :) Btw, this game seems to be soo cool *-*
this game has about a keylogger every 20 seconds getting into your computer, people somehow either glitch, or just dont take damage, personally, this game is sht, gameplay is fun, but without a better connection, and better way of keeping hackers out, im sure as FCK not playing this game

has anybody here who played the game fought a hacker? some of them are supposedly "lagging" and it happens for the entire match that i gotta call that hacks. anybody have more information on this "lag" problem? they're moving around and unkillable.
Hahaha you're totally right! I'm fast, without using all that switching and k-style crap, but my aim is excellent so I usually end up beating those K-stylers and they call me a sprayer because my easier and more effective technique is owning them lol
In Gunz it's a special kind of "Fighting Style". Really annoying for most players, hard to hit and not to mention it's hard to predict WHERE'S the next move is going to come. It's also one of the most hardest moves to master.
better, but way worse, it has a TON of keyloggers, if you dont know what a keylogger is, they basically know everything you type, so putting your username or pass into anything, its stolen, not INSTANTLY, but eventually

they are actually lagging. once they are dead they still run around cuz their computer havent registred them as dead yet cuz of the lag but once they are their attacks dont do damage anymore

@highlander012 I personally use anchor to get the drop on camping enemies, they almost never suspect an attack from above :) Go in there and go crazy with your melee weapon of choice.

gunz is fast speed moving and switching weapons, this game is quite light heart for who enjoy life, and not wanna practice kstyle.

This game look like gunz. The only diference is S4 is more futuristic and gunz is more older and have styles like k-style. But the two games are rox!

Was thinking of downloading this game and getting into it, but if the hacking is that bad maybe it's not a good game for a new player to get into now?

GunZ is much faster than this but S4 is slow yet fast, look at the dash in this game it looks like slow motion. Saying that it's somehow fast! It's also very addictive, I really like this game and I love GunZ.
Good thing about S4 is that you can play both 1st and 3rd person, I think 3rd person is better, it also has a capture the flag mode which is very intense. Anyone who plays this PM me.
When your computer restarts during a game that means BSOD (You bluescreened). By default, most computers are set to just restart the computer instead of displaying the blue screen with the error message. To actually find out the real issue, change the setting and bluescreen again to get the error message. Then you can disect the problem.
This is an awesome game, except for one crucial flaw. The characters move so slow it's like they have midgets holding onto their ankles. It's so damn easy to shoot people because nobody can move out of the way quick enough. There's no reason for it being that slow.
If everything was about .5x faster, this game would own.
i played gunz for about a year at a time a few times, got decent skill... it was interesting, but that doesnt mean there cant be other games of the same type that are better :P havent tried s4, just found out about it, and im looking forward to giving it a go. different people different tastes :P absolute rule of life
I wouldn't call the K-Style in GunZ a glitch, or anything using sword-techniques such as the butterfly, but it's deffinetely mucking around the mechanics of the game and abusing the speed of which animations change/take affect.
I just started playing this last night (only got past the tutorial) and it seems pretty slick.
Notice that anyone who sais anything remotely bad about GunZ gets a thumbs down? Ha ha, pathetic really. Especially since we are giving reasons and facts, not just saying "it's crap" like most people do.
I LIKE GunZ. I'd still play it if the torrent loaded. Yet for mentioning a couple of negative things about the game i get thumbs down... >_>

What happens after your killed in a match?
What's the objective of the game?
How is your character chosen/designed?
Kstyling, KS, korean style or Kstyle, is just what GlebGuy said: a different style of playing, that annoys another players, very unpredictable.
I personally hate it, but i can duel on the same level with them with my Dstyle :)

this game has about a keylogger every 20 seconds getting into your computer, people somehow either glitch, or just dont take damage, personally, this game is sht, gameplay is fun, but without a better connection, and better way of keeping hackers out, im sure as FCK not playing this game

has anybody here who played the game fought a hacker? some of them are supposedly "lagging" and it happens for the entire match that i gotta call that hacks. anybody have more information on this "lag" problem? they're moving around and unkillable.
Hahaha you're totally right! I'm fast, without using all that switching and k-style crap, but my aim is excellent so I usually end up beating those K-stylers and they call me a sprayer because my easier and more effective technique is owning them lol
In Gunz it's a special kind of "Fighting Style". Really annoying for most players, hard to hit and not to mention it's hard to predict WHERE'S the next move is going to come.
It's also one of the most hardest moves to master.
better, but way worse, it has a TON of keyloggers, if you dont know what a keylogger is, they basically know everything you type, so putting your username or pass into anything, its stolen, not INSTANTLY, but eventually

they are actually lagging. once they are dead they still run around cuz their computer havent registred them as dead yet cuz of the lag but once they are their attacks dont do damage anymore
I couldn't fight without my trusty sword, or counter sword =) (only because you need something solid to ambush/take down close enemys). Ah well, plenty of catching up to do this Monday coming - DataDrain

My Screen Recorder, Hypercam or any other screen capture software. Then you need windows movie maker or any other video editor to add your music.
@highlander012 I personally use anchor to get the drop on camping enemies, they almost never suspect an attack from above :) Go in there and go crazy with your melee weapon of choice.

If you mean what I think, then the types you can use are melee, ranged, sniping, and hacking.
This game would be perfect if it wasn't loaded with hackers. makes me not want to play... Sad really, we are all family, why would you treat family this way?
@ARSoulReaper325 I'd suggest just to start up ITunes before you play the game so you can listen to good music,then turn the game's music volume all the way down.
whats wrong with you? you dont even now how to get flipped and to land standing? maybe it doesnt work anymore but i didnt play gunz for a pritty long time now

Way better then gunz... S4 has no people repeatedly doing matrix jumps over and over, running on walls, and dashing...This game is just better
Also, you need to use fun skills more, you barely run, dodge, or anything :(, I assume your better now than you were 2 years ago, or i hope so.
use block+sentry gun+melee weapon (i like plasma) and a weapon of ur choice
just setup bases with ur block and defend it with ur sentry gun
I'm glad you agree with me ^.^ Though the gameplay is still in beta, and there doesn't seem to be too many weapons, it does look quite fun.

@sonategame No, it's free to play, but certain items cost real money. Weapons, skills and clothes are bought with ingame money.
