Fun fact: the reason that the barrel length is four and a quarter, and not four inches even is because the Canadian government passed one of their silly restrictions years ago which prohibited the sale of revolvers with barrel lengths of four inches or less. That's when Ruger increased the barrel length of the GP 100 to four and a quarter, and Colt is following suit so they can sell product up there.
This was true. However, Fidel Castro's son, Justin, made this a moot point when he froze the sale or transfer of any new handguns up there....4 1/4" or not.
Correct. So Colt should go back to 4 inch version. The picture shown shows the Python with two vents, but all models shown at SHOT and elsewhere have 3 and look ridiculous
That ain't a joke. Shoot 100 rounds for the cost of a new gun. I miss 3 cent 22, 19 cent 9mm, 32 cent 45, and 36 cent 357 mag. Now, fmj costs as much as high-end hollows used to cost. 1-2 bucks a boom is not ok.

Everyone LOVES to plink with 38 in it lol. Thanks again
Taurus used to make a Single Action Army clone years ago called The Gaucho, which from what I understand was a fairly good SSA, it'll be interesting to see how these ones go.
There's more to the Lipsey's J frame than the sights. Tuned trigger, redesigned grips (that look like a better option to me) along with the new chambering, which is not 327 Federal Magnum. It's 32 H&R Magnum.
There are some differences with these new blued Colt Pythons though, from what I've seen (unlike in the picture shown): 3 vents in the top strap of the 4.25" barrel, and 4 vents in the top strap of the 6" barrel - plus they're seemingly not Royal Blue, but very dark (almost black)... Some people have already griped about these differences. But, we'll see.
I think it looks almost black. I’m not complaining though, I think it looks good! I think I’d still get one in stainless though … if I was going to get one.

Great video but the Lipsey's website has a video about the new S&W revolver and it will NOT shoot the .327 Federal Magnum. It will only shoot the shorter H&R Magnum, 32 S&W and 32 S&W Long. Why they didn't chamber it in .327 which would have accepted the other three seems to be a huge oversite.
Lucky Gunner mentioned cylinder pressure might be too high for the standard lightweight construction. I understand even the 340PD has issues with higher quality cylinder steel but putting 357 through it.
@@steveh4962 idk, s&w has yet to make a 327FM revolver yet. So they probably won’t entertain a distributor special model until they’ve come out with a standard release. Taurus put out their first 327FM this year. 32HR is still a good choice.

However I’m always willing to give companies more than once chance when they appear to be listening to their customers and actually improving upon their quality of products. Not saying they are the greatest thing on the market, but this J-Framed size high polish stainless DA/SA 357 mag that actually has a 6 round cylinder instead of 5, weighs a mere 21 ounces and has a quick release removable cylinder…. @johnkeisterelquattro2553 I agree, if they prove to be reliable I would be interested myself. I love a good 357. What's weird is I had the Gen 3 version of the DB380, they replaced it with the Gen 4. In my opinion, aside from the reliability issues, the DB380 is what the Glock 42 should have been. I wanted to have the first review of the Gen 4 version on TH-cam but I had to send it back before I could film it.
Do you know if today's Colt is still tapering the barrel bore like yesterday's Colt was doing? They tapered the bore (bore choking) by about .001" from forcing cone to muzzle to enhance accuracy. It worked, but it also made a 6-inch Colt have about the same velocity as a 4-inch S&W or Ruger.

I have a polished stainless Gaucho in .357 Magnum with a 7 1/2" barrel. It's not a bad sixgun, sort of a hybrid of the traditional Colt SAA's lockwork/overall feel and Ruger's transfer bar system. Being a lifelong fan of "cowboy guns", I've owned and shot lots of SAA clones (and I'm fortunate enough to have shot actual Colt SAAs-including 1st Generations-as well, though sadly don't own one yet) and I've certainly seen worse than the Gaucho, but then I've seen (and own) better as well. Anyway, this new Deputy model looks like it's pretty much just a rebranding of the Gaucho line with less finish and barrel length options. I'll have to handle one in person and compare it to my Gaucho though before I can say too much. Maybe they've improved on it some.

Correction on the Lipsey's J-frame. It's NOT in 327Federal Magnum, but 32 H&R Magnum only, from what I saw at Shot-Show and on Lipsey's website. Most S&W guys say it's because of the aluminum frame not being able to handle to 327FM pressure. I feel they should have said hell with the aluminum frame and made it steel for the 327Fed Mag. If your recoil sensitive then shoot the .32 H&R. The little weight difference will be negligible. Lipsey's effed that one up IMHO. Oh well I'll wait for my Unicorn steel K-frame 7-shot 327 Fed Mag snubby.

Since Taurus has show up a lot in this video I would like to make sure Yankee and my fellow viewers here know the following, important piece of information: Taurus/CBC/Rossi (all are the same company) has coluded with the non-legitimately-elected communist government of the convicted criminal Lula and his "worker's" party to DESTROY CIVILIAN'S GUNS RIGTHS here in Brazil to practically zero. Even sportive competitions where closed for an entire year. Taurus itself helped the PT (the communist party) to write the law, with pages and pages of advice on how to curb our rights, and even phrases of effect and jokes about civilians owning guns. What do they hope to gain with that, you ask? It's simple: they will continue to be a monopoly in a 200 million inhabitants country. The PT will not let other companies to settle, and will (already have) make importing almost impossible. Taurus will keep being the sole provider for all military forces and all branches of police in the country. Except in the case the police in question opens their processes to imported guns, which few will do. Furthermore the PT is much more easy to bribe. 90% of shooting competitors in the country, including me and my wife, have vowed to never buy Taurus/Rossi again (we have to buy CBC ammo, because as a monopoly that's the only available).
Glad to hear S&W upgraded sights on the airweight revolvers. fancy sights have no place on this point and shoot 1.5" defender. This means the old S&W revolvers will drop in price cuz peeps think they want sights on their CCW.
I like the Korth Colored Revolvers best, My B-Day is coming up in a little bit so if anyone would like to buy me the Red one I will be your friend for life.
I just discovered that SDR on another video and had to come and see what you might say about it. Might bump my second K6S out of my next revolver purchase.
Apologies Mr. Marshall do not want to rain on the parade but thoughts on some observations. 1. The S&W is 32 H&R magnum, apparently NOT 327 federal. 2. Thoughts on SDR's removable Cylinder and Crane? 3. The Python is blued but not Royal blued, the hammer is blued on this new one but not the originals, and the demo copy of the 4.25 Blued Python has 3 vents on the rib unlike the photos from Guns and Ammo etc which show the correct 2 vents in the rib for the 4.25 Blued Python- this to me is a bit jarring but wondering what a revolver aficionado like you thinks? Thanks for the content.
The bluing on that Python is cool. It looks somewhat different than my 1981 Python… like more black or something. Could just be the pic. If I were going to get a new model Python I think I would stick with stainless. 4.25 or 4.5, whatever the barrel is seems to be a sweet spot for barrel length in pythons. It just looks good.
I hear good things about Taurus but the two revolvers I bought from dealers, I had to send them to Georgia for warranty repair before I even went to the range. Don’t buy Taurus online, check it yourself before you buy lol

@@mrmann44 I own 4 Charter Arms revolvers currently, and of those 4, 3 have had to go back to the factory for repair within the first 50 rounds fired. Bad QC but great customer service. They've always come back fixed. If you can deal with that, they're serviceable little tools.
@mrmann I was wondering if there was something going on with that. I’ve picked up a, what is it, Charter pug? Bull pup? Pit bull? In 40SW at my LGS and almost bought it twice now but there is something funky going on with the cylinder release. Oh well I'll wait for my Unicorn steel K-frame 7-shot 327 Fed Mag snubby.
Amen they missed the mark it should have been 327 fed mag
@@bourbonbill just carry a 357 if you want 327 performance , Im happy with 32 mag
No 44 mag rhino, WTF Yankee somebody needs to get on them guys, the people have been asking to get one for years.
Well there's the mateba 6 unica made by the guy who designed the rhino but they are several thousand. Yeah a .44 rhino would be the tits though. One can dream...
Great review, right in my wheelgun wheelhouse..
yessss, i'm glad to see revolver love
Talking wheel guns fits the back wall..LOL.
Hickok loves colt. Why would he not shoot it well on purpose?
Man U got like 50 of them reviews huh!!!!
Yeah that DBR looks nice n so does the new 3” Rossi that got brought back in late 2023.!.!
Another Gr8 show n info TY!
single action revolvers. were great guns in the 18th century and mid 19th century. now the double action revolvers are the great guns for this time.
I love my revolvers and lever guns! Don’t care if that makes me a fudd. I shoot what I enjoy and not in anticipation of some nuclear fallout.
Hear hear! I used to reject certain guns because there was always some flaw (in my mind) that would make it sun optimal in a TEOTWAKI scenario. Only holds 5 rounds? Where am I going to get .45 Colt when the SHTF? Those fiddly bits on that Charter 9mm revolver are going to break off and I’m not going to be able to find replacements in the wasteland! I can’t carry .380, because the Miami-dade shootout in ‘86!!
Yeah… I’ve since realized that those are not valid reasons to pass on interesting pieces. Don’t get me wrong… Certainly I have an AR and a 9mm for when the zombies get here, but I don’t feel bad about picking up a cool SAA or 5 shot .357 to have some fun with now and then too!
@@ChadBoss-qr4hllove this!! Admittedly a bit excited about Henry’s new lever gun that accepts pmags!
@@j-dub8399 Oh, I know! I don't usually go for the 'tactical' lever guns... but something about a lever gun with 30 round mag is very interesting to me. It's like something you would see in Mad Max or something.
@@ChadBoss-qr4hl yes! Totally agree! And in 300 blackout with a can, super quiet!
I still have my 1982 blued Python (like new), 4 inch and have been tempted to buy a new one and now the new blued models may be more tempting!
I love revolvers! Also 1911's and Desert Eagle 50 AE. Henry rifles, bolt action sniper rifles. Quality built beautiful gun's is artwork, in engineering and visually. Also too expensive for me, but I love it.
You had no reason to bash that man who has a channel who happens to have a range at his house.. He has millions of subscribers and tells the truth. No sense being jealous
Really excited about the Deputy.
Great video--thanks. I love a revolver with a good DA trigger. Oh, as I recall, Sherlock Holmes makes a comment similar to yours in one of the stories about having to forget something old for each new thing he learned, and those stories were written in the Victorian era. Hell, I don't even need to learn something new to forget something old. LOL. --Old Guy
I want Colt to do a Detective Special and a model M.
Blued Python
Not the Royal blue though.
@@alexander1902 I already have one of those from the late eighties. I doubt if this one is the same color. I already have the stainless. I think that Ill like this one more.
Revolvers are more reliable too❤
My only issue with the new Colts is my Cobra broke it's firing pin. Now I have to send it to them to have it replaced.
Since Taurus has show up a lot in this video I would like to make sure Yankee and my fellow viewers here know the following, important piece of information:
Taurus/CBC/Rossi (all are the same company) has coluded with the non-legitimately-elected communist government of the convicted criminal Lula and his "worker's" party to DESTROY CIVILIAN'S GUNS RIGTHS here in Brazil to practically zero.
That put Taurus up there with the other brands that are actually against the 2nd. Ammendment, like H&K and FN.
A blued Python! You can get a V7 Moto Guzzi as well and hunt pimps.
Revolvers are definitely here to stay
I've been drawn back to revolvers in recent years myself. I wonder if it's because polymer pistols have gotten kind of boring.
Glad to hear S&W upgraded sights on the airweight revolvers. fancy sights have no place on this point and shoot 1.5" defender. This means the old S&W revolvers will drop in price cuz peeps think they want sights on their CCW.
You and the Colt trigger guy should have a competition, to see who the better shot is.
I’m excited for the blued Python. I’m interested in that Diamondback snubnose but I’ll wait to see if it has any issues before buying one. But that blued Python is has my heart!
Lots of lever guns too. Some very interesting stuff, I've got a lot to be on the lookout for this year.
Did the new Python blued 4.25 have 2 vents or 3 vents on the rib?. I’ve seen both depicted
Good fucking Santa shit. I haven't seen one of your vids for a while and the huge white beard with red hat and shirt made my season jolly.
Damn you’ve got a lot of revolvers. You must get a new six gun every month or so? Nice display wall! 🔫
Charter Arms is also doing some optics ready stuff. They just introduced their "mastiff" line of target revolvers with 6 inch barrels, and they all seem to be optics ready
My gunstore just had to return like 20 Charter Arms revolvers because the latch and cylinder wouldn't work properly.
Now I’m thinking it’s systemic with those guns and I’ll be hesitant to get one even though it has an interesting way for avoiding moon clips with the chamber springs.
@@ChadBoss-qr4hl yeah the pitbull! Those are great when they're available, but they tend to cost a bit more than most budget revolvers. If you buy one, it may need some attention at the factory, but Charter has always taken good care of me.
@@CarolinaRimfire I've heard good things about them and I really like the idea of not having to use moon clips. They even have one in 380 I believe. It's good to know that the factory would have my back if I get one!
Had a Taurus 605, with less than 200 rounds and some dry firing, the transfer bar snapped. In. Half. I'm never buying taurus again. Definitely not trusting my life to one.
Oh no i thought i was done buying revolvers but a blued python is a must have
I can't believe nobody came out with a 9mm 3-inch revolver in stainless steel.
The Linsey’s smith will come in .32 H&R not .327
The grip on that 605 sure looks like a Python grip.
They look like they may be made by Altamont, too.
I was thinking the exact same thing lol
I have a pair of Taurus Gouchos in .45 Long Colt. Very nice SSA revolvers, great fit and finish.
The blued Python launch is a 4.25" and a 6", like the stainless in 2020.
I've seen a few Taurus revolvers with an over-torqued barrel. The front sight on those did not line up with the rear sights which made accuracy impossible. I just hope those were lemons 🤞
32 h&r Magnum not 327 sadly
S&W needs to take a cue from Colt and bring back the 586 snub…that’s a holy grail gun to a lot of people…me being one of them😂
PSA really did a good job this year.
Been thinking about getting an airweight for a pocket gun. That lipsey upgrade is very interesting.
Taurus owns Heritage so they already have some experience with Single Action revolvers
Love the Redhawks with a scope
Taurus made a SAA back in the early 2000's called the Gaucho!
'Spose they'll bring back the thunderbolt as well?
Chiappa should continue with the steel frame and improve their customer service.
I'm not a fan of mat finish chrome s&w. Why not polished?
If the Lipsey's 442 didn't come with an action job then it's really just lipstick on a pig. There is nothing wrong with the stock sights given the revolver's purpose.
I love me a good wheel gun. Henry and now Taurus. I think its great. I own a Taylors and Company Runnin Iron 45 Colt 3.5in case hardened Revolver...Been thinking about another so more choices the better.
Very nice honest review enjoyed it. Korth is also way out of my league!!
love that display behind you! I'm a revolver guy all the way!
I like all Colt revolvers , under seven pounds in weight . . . Any stanless revolver is built incorrectly espessually if its pollushed .
Reminds me of people that buy Harley Davidsons to ride in the dirt trails . Stupid if you dull the finish with steel wool and soak it in saltwater too but the H/D manual dont say not to .
T/C/E
S&w model 66 combat magnum 2.75 houge laser grips 👍
I believe the "year of the wheelgun" was back in1800's
Well done Yankee!! This is awesome news 😎🔥
Colt saw how awesome the Henry revolver looks blued, and did a Me Too.
Me to! Thanks
The Diamond revolver had a feature on it that is so obvious, you wonder why it isn't standard on all modern revolvers today. That is the push button cylinder/crane release. It makes cleaning easier or, for various security reasons, you wish to keep them separately.
Yes, I love that feature. I wish I had more time to talk about each individual gun in the video but I didn’t. I might do a separate video on just the SDR.
@@TheYankeeMarshal YES! And I’m sure you noticed as I know you are a fan of this feature just like I am…. The SDR appears to have the recessed cut on the back of the cylinder so the case rims will sit flush down in the cylinder!!! Just like the old S&W models!!
Clearly they were all just waiting for you to not show up to a SHOT show to announce all their revolvers, you have a reputation...
🤩 Colt Python 6"BLUED! 🤩
