I've always loved how all the BTS intros really _match_ the member who delivers it, either encapsulating them perfectly or showing a side we didn't think of much. This is _so_ Jin! The lyrics are so, almost absurdly, simple...but in a way that portrays both a child-like take on the world and a heart-breaking-ly adult manner of self-consciousness and awareness. Someone who lives in the moment, gives it his all. Despite the video and it's theory-potential, the message is so lovely and simple........ just deciding that you _should_ love yourself, that you have a responsibility or obligation to yourself to wrap your precious soul in love...it is _very_ Kim Seok-Jin. The video...well, it ain't the end of Bangtan Universe, I'd say. I thought this would definitely be an acting video, over a choreographed one, but I never imagined we'd have multiple Jins acting.Very....ouroboros. Cyclical..an ending, but definitely a beginning as well. They're not done, folks. The instrumentals itself....Jin, to me, shines in two different styles of song. One being the Disney prince-style we saw in Awake and the other being this welling of emotion in the more folk-sy 'Korean-style' ballad...like in Autumn Post Office. This song marries the two, with an undercover of those modern hip-hop-y beats/percussion that has littered Love Yourself with its high-hats and snare rolls. If Awake was a Disney Prince at the ending card scene or the wedding or something, Epiphany is the Disney Prince in the midst of their adventure, it's Flynn Rider going on his quest. It _doesn't_ sound like an ending, but a grand adventure, but there's those strings and then Kim Soekjin hits you with his longing vocals, a touch of gentle care and kid gloves that belong to this wild, unchained vulnerability. And then the stripped back vocals come back with this march of passion, leading the piano and strings and bloody electric guitar behind him. Even the guitar strumming is _so_ Jin. The power-housing background vocals are _very_ Jin. To the point and simple, but something that captures the yearning of the human conscience. The simplicity of his acting, to me just underscores this idea of beauty in something that doesn't need to put a front, be perfect...None of the other members could have truly pulled off this quality of acting without seeming like they're acting, of an old, weary soul under a pair of child's eyes. I'll probably have to mull over the parallels in this video with previous ones and theory matter, etc., *but, till then, well done Kim Seokjin-nim.* Well done...you did the ending of this saga justice.

the red diary from the highlight reel. the flowers from the highlight reel. the saturation drop from Euphoria is used here as well. the time lapse over and over again. however, the Jin from beginning sitting near the window was crouched down. by the end Jin wasn't there and the window was rather opened. i assumed he escaped through the window as a metaphor for something important
My theory is that when the cycle changed jin went and picked up that diary. The diary is probably the same one the girl from the highlight real dropped. And those flower he looked at reminded him of the girl too, I think jin was tired of living through the same thing over and over again. Watching his friends suffer, seeing the girl die, I think jin just wants to stop seeing the pain of his loved ones suffering so he decided to stop rewinding time and when he closed the curtains he wanted to stop watching his friends suffer so much while he couldn't do anything and when he picked up the diary and left he decided to reunite with his friends and the girl. I also think that end picture symbolizes it too

My theory is that when the cycle changed jin went and picked up that diary. The diary is probably the same one the girl from the highlight real dropped. And those flower he looked at reminded him of the girl too, I think jin was tired of living through the same thing over and over again. Watching his friends suffer, seeing the girl die, I think jin just wants to stop seeing the pain of his loved ones suffering so he decided to stop rewinding time and when he closed the curtains he wanted to stop watching his friends suffer so much while he couldn't do anything and when he picked up the diary and left he decided to reunite with his friends and the girl. I also think that end picture symbolizes it too
