I’ve lived in Australia for 10 years and my husband for 15, husband still speaks comrade English mind you we live in a white close knit small rural town, my family and this other Zim family only black and Africans in the whole town me on the other hand my accent changed by choice, I can still switch depending on who I’m talking to. It’s a choice unless you were born here or came here at a very young age.
