18 mos ago I was getting shown 45k times on google per month now it’s tanked!To 745😮😮😮 yes 45,000 to 745. And I am an SEO wizard. I don’t even know what to say, but I’ve had to pivot.
Oh man that totally sucks! So sorry to hear that. It's becoming a normal thing now! I'm hoping it will change eventually. I'm grateful for Pinterest though! Hop onto Pinterest!
Yup lots of bumps and bruises from google again but main site is up in income so not crying ❤❤
Hey Elna, I also see the same graph for my niche site. Right now, waiting for the Google update to roll out, working on the backend and technical aspects. You should try doing that. Let me know what's your future inputs on this site?
Google average position is up because your site was deranked for several keywords (no more ranking in top 100 results), and now you are left with far less keywords where you rank well.
I got hit too and lost 75% of my traffic as I was mostly from Google. I'm not just hanging on with Pinterest. Thankfully my TH-cam has almost double income the last month taking up some of the slack of my blog loss. But I have no idea how to work on bringing it back up at the moment, or what it is that Google now isn't liking which is frustrating.
Yeah, I hear ya but Pinterest is really where it is. I'm using a new tool so I will see if this works for more traffic and income....case study time!
I had the exact same thing drop yet my Pinterest views nearly made up for it, not quite, but Pinterest had been sending me more traffic than Google anyway
Yea same for my niche site. But the other site I talked about at the end of my video was a total SEO site...very little social traffic so it did go down 30% and hasn't fully recovered.
your search console looks EXACTLY like mine I have way less page views though from what GA is saying. Been working on this site for 2 years now and now starting up another one with the things I learned. Still working with one writer but I slowed down production and was super discouraged through it all

Yeah the first time my site was hit and it's doing okay now. Here's the story of when it happened: medium.com/@ecainwrites/so-my-site-got-hit-with-the-google-helpful-content-update-63f45342f114
So far, I'm actually doing better with this update BUT I have been hit with another site last year and it never recovered. I know that Google is very unstable and I'm not celebrating my better rankings right now as I know it could all be taken away at any time by these updates. Sorry you got hit but sounds like you have a good plan!
Yea same here. My other sites weren't hit at all...just this niche one. Last update this niche site wasn't hit so who knows what's going to happen now. I figure it will take years to recover but during that time I can capitalize on Pinterest and maybe Facebook.
Hey Elna Thank you for this video. Elna I have a question regarding Pinterest. Is there any Pinterest bug these days? I have noticed a sudden drop in outbound clicks from my viral pins. Definetely my saves have also decreased. But I am more worried about outbound clicks. Please share your opinion on this.
Hmm, I haven't noticed any bugs on Pinterest or a sudden drop on clicks...it could be a bug but not sure...

It's inconsistent but I'm trying out a new tool so we will see!
What happen to your plan to use mediavine?
For me to get into the Mediavine Journey platform I need to put the Grow plugin on my blog for a month so they can analyze the traffic I guess. After that time has passed and after they approve me I'll start getting ads.
Is the Pinterest impressions shown is matching with your backend pinterest analytics? That's a decent CTR to links. I am trying to ramp up the Pinning while increasing the CTR

Is your content mostly AI written?
It's a mix of AI that I edit to make it human, my posts and a writer's posts. So mostly human based. I think it was hit because I have barely any backlinks and no authority in this niche.
@@elna-twinsmommy thanks for the response. I wouldn't worry about Google (today). Keep pushing. keep writing. keep developing other channels. Google will come back to you sometime in the near future, but if not ...who cares. Ultimately your site is your resume that will lead to other things.

Your site is about cleaning hacks and you expect to rank for interior design?
I do a mix of home decor, organizing and cleaning hacks.
