It really is an amazing part of Georgia! The beautiful mountains and vineyards everywhere that you can see 😁 thank you for watching, we really appreciate you! 😃
The phenolic compounds are the reason, the qvevry wine has such a color (the same like in black tee, cutted and left apple etc.). The European style of white wine making means fermenting only the juice. Qvevry style - long time contact of grape skin and stems with juice -> and as result migration of these compounds to wine + contact with oxygen
Thank you for your comment! 😄 We really appreciate your explanation about the Georgian wine making process, we found it so interesting to learn about it all 😄🇬🇪🍷 have a great evening!
Dear Sarah and Marek! Thank you for this awesome video! We're so lucky we got to host you at our place, you guys are the best! Good luck with your future travels and we're waiting for your next visit in a few years time as agreed :)) p.s. I'm impressed at how well you've explained the process behind Georgian winemaking, good job guys! Take care
Hi Nina! Thank you to you and your family for such a memorable experience 😄❤🇬🇪 and for teaching us so much about the Georgian winemaking process. We found it so interesting! 🤩🍷 We hope to visit again in a few years time and see all your progress! All the best!!
Thanks for the lovely video! Scarey climbing into the Georgian vat! Adorable puppies. Felt for you, bending for hours in the vineyards! Food looked delicious, and what a cheerful dining experience with such a friendly family. Must have been heart rending to leave. Conac for breakfast, wow! The longest goatie, on the beautiful white goat. Drone shots were spectacular, to say nothing of your cheerful clothing, and sweet conversations! Just loved this week's episode, well done!
It's amazing how similar this is to Nagdi Marani! I thought that's where you were. They're a winery/vineyard that is, according to Google, 130 meters away! They're also my neighbors as I have a vineyard/winery in Kardenakhi. You're right, it's an amazing country with wine flowing through it's veins!
This is really a mini documentary, amazing guys! The shots are stunning and the winery looks fantastic. The area is beautiful and those grapes oh god! I feel like eating the traditional Georgian bread now!
Thank you so much Ale 😄 we loved our time at this winery and we are so happy that we could share this stunning place through our video 😍🍷🇬🇪 The food, bread, and wine were all delicious 🤤
Wow! They have super grapes for their wine. Those wine pots look really cool. Definitely not good if they explode! Who needs caves when you can explore underground wine chambers? Those puppies are soooo cute! Vineyards are a great location for a jog!
Believe us when we say that we can definitely taste those super grapes in the wine XD the vineyards were really really cool to run through BUT... because it was the start of summer, there were so many snakes coming out of hibernation and honestly we saw massive massive snakes on each and every run :D
@@SarahandMarek ah yes, walnut preserves. While you're there do try some other too - fig, or quince are great. Goes well with the morning breakfast with tea. If you want to get fancy, they also make rose petal preserves.
Guyssss that workaway looks like so much fun! Fruit trees, fresh baked bread, wine, puppies. Talk about a DREAM. I’m glad two little puppers got adopted but it sucks you didn’t get to say goodbye 😔 You guys really educated me on the wine plants and process. Plus I totally forgot wine started in Georgia! It must be such an amazing experience to taste wine there and get to see Georgian wine in the making 😄 I know working out in the sun and bending over all the time really takes a toll on your body. Marek is going to have to wear longer shirts or pull his underwear up over his lower back if he doesn’t want to burn LOL. That’s hilarious that you put the last drop of wine on your thumbnail hahaha 🤣 I’ve never heard of that before in my life! When in Georgia though! 🇬🇪 also you guys are brave for hopping into the wine hole lol that was so sketchy I would have been very skeptical 🤨
It was honestly such a great workaway, we learned so much during our time there 🤩🍷 we found it SO interesting to learn about the Georgian wine making process! We definitely worked hard during our time there though 😅 hahaha random sunburn spots 😂 Marek's solution was to tuck his shirt in but even then sometimes it didn't work 😂 The wine on the thumbnail was something a very sweet Georgian man named Dato taught us. He was doing some carpentry work for our host family and he was so sweet to us 😊❤ I was definitely nervous lowering myself down into the Qveri but it was such a cool experience 😅 we're glad we did it!
Wonderful. You make the hard work look so easy. Super proud of both of you for just taking every day as it comes and just go with it. Love your sense of adventure and the respect you show to people
Thank you so much Marco! 😁 Georgia really is an amazing country full of amazing people, incredible food and the landscapes... oh my goodness! 😱 hope that you get the chance to experience it yourself! Thank you so much for the help though, we had zero idea what we were looking at 😆

Georgia has indeed the earliest evidence of grape winemaking, by a wide margin, but does not claim to be the birth place of wine outside of a few cheesy tourist slogans. You would have to dig up all the world to be sure. However, everyday life and wider culture in Georgia is tied to wine more so than in any country I know, wine is to Georgia what Elizabeth II is to England: a millenia old cultural fixture that pervades the homes, souls and wallets of every citizen. To the point that many Georgians will have no doubt about our ownership of wine's genesis.
That is definitely true. No one could ever be completely sure of where wine actually originated. We agree with you 100% that wine is a very important aspect of the Georgian culture 🇬🇪🍷❤ We are so grateful we got an inside look into how Georgian wine is made 🍷😍
