I think it depends on your store model and niche.
I’m a mechanic by trade, so I understand a lot about cars. I also have a big exterior garage that currently holds 1000+ items and it’s not even 20% of the way full. Most my store is tools I purchase from individuals, parts from a pick n pull, or I have bought out family owned dealerships.
Some of my items don’t even have sales on eBay, I price it under OEM brand prices and promote my listings. I’m okay with letting stuff sit for months sometimes years at a time. But that’s just my business model.
I’m into most slow selling items for less than 20% of what I’ll end up selling them for, and the higher sell through rate items like Snap On tools or mini cooper parts, I’ll pay closer to 50% for knowing it’ll sell within two weeks most the time. I watch all your videos and you’re very knowledgeable, I just don’t think finding affordable items with high sell through rate is always realistic.
That being said I’m also not full time, I profit between $700-$800 a week after buy cost, shipping, and eBay fees. It’s enough to set aside and scale my business while saving for some properties as I grow older.
Thank you for the advice as always brother!!

I feel like buying in bulk and resseling is key but i'm still trying to figure out how people buy pallets of items. I more or less got a few leads in my area since I notice that bin stores in my area have been doing well and wanted to flip a pallet on my own.

Casey, I buy and see a lot of no-name clothing, but I buy based on style. Because I can sell it to consignment. For example, I just recently bought two clothings and the brand is no-name. But the style is smoking! In my decision to buy it is -- I can always sell to consignment. Because consignment looks at style first and then brand. Old Navy is not a brand that Consignment wants, but if I bring them Old Navy Overalls they will buy them. Based on the style, because the style sells.
If you go through their racks, a lot of the brands are unknown, but the styles are funky fun and modern.
Tell your guy to take the coat to a consignment shop. Either a Buy-Sell shop or a regular consignment shop.
Lastly, one thing that Brand names have over the Chinese brands is 'BRAND NAME'. When we shop, we're looking for the name brand because we trust the quality.

@@Chicago48 this is a general rule of thumb on my video and discussion eBay sales…I’m sure the consignment you use is great and different rules apply to that shop then selling on eBay

A lot has to do with keywords, item specifics, and price. Find out what time of year an item sells best. I'm in complete agreement with this video but there is more to consider. Buy what people are looking for at a low price and sell to have a profit after fees and COG.

That's my exact model but like you said Im somone who has the storage, the time and the capital to do it. I price almost everything over current market value. I sell mostly vintage collectibles in all categories. People should be grateful for sellers like me because I play a role in raising values of items. If everyone priced competitively then it would be a race to the bottom. I agree with you for most people. Personally I don't need things to sell fast. I will add that I dont do it on everyday items just hard to find items.

I feel like the sellers I follow who do well are selling through 30% or better in their stores in 90 days, so if I can keep that up as I increase the number of items in my store, I'm happy with that, especially as an everything seller. I balance what I list so there are quick flips and longer tail items, and am ok with that because I need to sell some things I love and enjoy (or just go back to a day job). It's a balance and I'm ok with that, always adjusting and learning. Thanks for the video!

Wait, so how does one go about looking to see what items are selling by the hundreds or thousands daily?
Also, you mentioned the Product Research page. When I go on there, I just look up an item I want to sell and see if they are selling. Isn't that all Product Research does? What else can I do with it?
    A struggling closet,

      @RockstarFlipper  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

On ebay its called a store not a closet like on poshmark which can confuse some folks just as an fyi.
You go to ebay search, type in the item you want to search and then click the SOLD filter. It will show what has ACTUALLY SOLD in the last 90 days by default.
The product research tool formerly known as terapeak does the same thing except it goes back much further i think up to 3 years. Also it includes a little more info but isn't necessary except for in depth research. quick SOLD searchs will give you what you need 99/100 times

Sell through rate can be deceiving. If you look up a coat in August, the 90 day sell through rate will be much different than looking it up in January.

So I am downsizing and purging my house from a 5 to a 2 bedroom size… I have most things in storage so nothing has really cost me anything except cost of storage… but if something sits for a little longer once you list it, but cost you nothing really is it ok for it to sit longer in your store?
I’m a bit overwhelmed what to start listing but I have clothes, shoes, household items, some electronics, tools… where do you honestly start.. should you do clothes or everything first as I need to find more of a niche…

I sell Vintage Motorcycles, vintage motorcycle parts and vintage chainsaws. I ONLY have 420-500 items listed at any given time howeve rmy ASP is 101.00 and 3-4 times a year I sell a high end bike that brings 25k+ I have no idea how anyone can sell clothes, shoes etc... there is NOT enough profit in that. I absolutely Gurantee I frequently have antique chainsaws that you won't find anywhere else on eBay or VERY few. The guys that collect them KNOW what they are looking for and scour ebay for it.
