I think Kanishka was not a traitor like Ambhikumar. Ambhikumar was already aware about the treacherous nature of his father but still he trusted him and was ignorant to hear the other side of the story. Even Ambhikumar's mother was an incompetent kshatrani who despite of being aware of her husband's nature never nourished her son well with good values and also at the end she was the first person to misguide him to revenge Puru. Because of that vile woman, her disgusting husband and wicked son, our country got unrecoverable losses. Such people don't deserve to live a life. I think Maharaj Purushottam should have killed him properly instead of hurrying towards war sight. Because Alexander was already defeated at that phase of war. This traitor Ambhikumar later killed Puru. Had Puru killed this rascal, atleast his own life would've been safe. Although Paurav Shrestha would've died early at the hands of Alexander which would have had a bad impact on the kingdom but this scenario would have been much better than loosing Puru so early. Just like loss at Third Battle of Panipat was not that big loss for India as was the loss caused by early demise of Peshwa Madhavrao 1 similarly demise of Maharaj Purushottam was a bigger loss for the nation. Battle of Hydaspes just proved to the world that a small kingdom in India is more powerful than entire world's combined forces. These are just excuses that Alexander's army was tensed because if that was the sole reason of his retreat then he would have waited for some more years or attacked India strategically in some other way.
