There was a house explosion near me last week and a man died .According to the experts it was not caused by household gas.. it could be caused by people cooking up drugs using propane gas cylinders .just one theory ....
This is sad and I am glad to see that this reporter got a far better story than another newspaper company who put up just a walk by video. and not information. it is sad for the family and the people who live close who may now not have a home to live in
I do know that when BG come and service our boiler they turn up all the thermostats on the radiator, so they get more money!! I reckon the gas boiler has been tampered with so they don’t pay as much for the heating
poor little boy his life barely begun i cant imagine what the parents and community are going through this is happening way to often and the trauma will be with them for years to come. I hope they name the little lad soon my condolences are with everyone and his parents at the mo its not just homes lost its death and serious injuries as well its going to take many years to overcome my massive support to the community and to his parents and othrr members of his family we are not going to find out what caused this for several days months so sad and heartbreaking 😢
Elswick and Benwell are the absolute pits of Newcastle, for instance if the council offered you to live there as a migrant you'd probably ask to go back
Are they sure it wasn’t methane? Mixed with radon perhaps? The gases would probably not have reached the first floor. A gas pilot light would be enough! Just a theory.
Only if not installed maintained properly. Are we training/ checking trades people standards have slipped everywhere, everything has a element of danger to it.
This is a council area, a run down estate. Builders trying to make the place look decent. High crime rates there. the weather has been freezing the past few mornings. What if the gas or heating system hadn’t been checked? Or the gas boiler had been tampered with to cut down on payments. Such a sad incident. In this day and age this shouldn’t happen. This isn’t far from where I live. I hope people find out what happened. Lessons need to learned.
Who are the family? They never hold names back unless...... unless..... why do we not know the names of the boy and the 30yo? We very quickly got the name of the young boy that was shot during a hunt..
My thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased and injured. We don't know what caused this explosion, but chances are it was a gas leak. What I find hard to believe is nobody smelt the gas. We had a tiny gas leak outside our house in the road, and we could smell it as we walked passed. If it was a gas leak, there would have have to been quite a big one, to cause that much damage.
Thoughts go out to the families. RIP. This what happens when people can get others to sit exams for them at gas safe. We used to work to British Standards. Or of course your imported neighbors are busy bomb making. Do not be Surprised sadly these explosions are set continue. Alledgedly IMO only.

No. It is very clear that it was not a gas leak. It was a proper explosion with certain debris.
