okay, i know the pharoh's name is Atem, but why does the name Hotep keep coming to my mind every time I see him?? And i mean EVERY TIME I SEE HIM. This is bizarre.

He went on to change his name to Akhenaten and replaced ALL the Gods with the Aten; represented by the sun. But in order to worship the Aten, the people had to worship Akhenaten and his family, which is a pretty narcissistic thing to do. But unlike previous kings, he gave his queen, Nefertiti, the same privileges as himself and at the time, it was considered unthinkable for a woman to have that much power. Long story, short, he p*ssed off a lot of people and they tried to wipe him from history by destroying as much evidence of his existence. As for my point, I always sort of figured that "Atem" was supposed to sound like "Aten".
