Hello Dacob, I'm in love with n°22,( just like n°19)....the lasting power is outstanding, even though I don't like tuberous , I adore it it 22, so well masterfully crafted...I find it better than n°5, in my opinion of course! ....I simply think is one the best fragrances of the last two centuries...period !!! In fact all Ernest Beaux creations are....there's no words.....

I'm watching all your Chanel fragrance reviews and loving them. I have many of the same and your descriptions are very accurate. I'm a fragrance junkie and have tried so so many but always end up going back to Chanel. A few of my favorites are No. 5, No.19 Poudre and No. 22. If you have other suggestions based on those, let me know! :)

Received this parfum just yesterday and now compare it to "No. 5" extrait on my other wrist. First impression- No. 22 keeps the initial aldehyde start of "No. 5 " over a looong time. The latter already turn into something different. Darker, if you will. Love both so far. Thank you for another great review, Dacob. Always enjoy your opinions as it comes from an educated place.

Hi Dacob. Your videos are helping me with this stay at home quarentine. So firstly wanted to just thank you! I had a question. I’ve never owned any pure purfumes. I do wear no 5 and coco mad intense. I was wondering if the pure perfumes are more of a skin scent. Do they project like edp or edt. Will others be able to smell it on me ? Or is it more of a personal skin sent. Thank you! I’ve been spraying no 5 on my sheets at night and love it haha i really want to get the pure parfum. Stay safe ❤️
Pure perfumes do not project like edp or edt, they stay close to the skin.
I am wondering, how does your EDT from 2005 compare to the Les Exclusifs EDT? Is it more potent or just different? I have seen a bottle from the 80s and wondering if I should buy that versus looking for the LE EDT (I only have a sample of the latter). Thank you - just discovered your reviews and love your honesty combined with in-depth detail.
I just bowed by head in agreement when you mentioned Acqua de Gio, (a fragrance I always hated anyway) as dated. TOTALLY with you. Whenever I wore 22 (I now wear Cuir de Russie) they always get attention and you can be safe in the knowledge nobody else smells like you. x Loads of love and respect to you for all your videos.

Do you have any tips on how I can make Cuir de Russie - both the Eau de Parfum and the parfum - project for more than a few seconds on my skin? It’s devastating. :-(

today i got half a bottle of no 22 pure parfum in the post , oh its so lovely, im a massive no 5 parfum fan and this no 22 was a blind buy but a good one, slightly incensey , very silky and smooth, notes are seamless, its kinda strong i catch wiffs yet it still meshes with skin and softens into a skin sent with projection. I adore it, no box sadly but luckily the lady had stored at the back of a dark cupboard so it smells just the way you describe it, snowy bubbly aldyhides and sweet rose and jasmin, deffo a slighty sweet musky vibe with some soft woody notes. your review as always is well wicked, thanks a lot for convincing me to look out for it. I think i just a tiny bit prefer the no5 parfum, theres more going on, but boy oh boy is this a nice alternative that shines
in a different way, bubble bath fresh aldyhides, and smoky incense and dusty vanillia with sweet roses etc whats not to love ?

Thank you for bringing me back!!! No 22 EDT was my signature scent during my senior year of high school. It's so special and I'm quite sad it is not available in the regular line anymore...just at the boutiques for a much higher price HAHA. My all time fave Chanel perfume is Coco [the original one...not Noir or Mademoiselle!!] but 22 will always have a place in my heart. I love your enthusiasm about the brand...I feel a similar way about Hermes as a brand [however, Chanel fragrances are some of the best made and longest lasting in the industry IMO...even better than H].
P.S. I like your hair with the roots showing. I know in more recent videos you mention it becoming annoying but I think It adds some depth. :-)

N22 got a huge markup since it was discontinued from the regular line in the States. Its a pity! I loved the entire range from the N22 body powder to the N22 body lotion. I will be doing a COCO review too in the near future! I love it! xoxo

I think (at least in 1998), all Chanel fragrances were made in France, but 22 was marketed exclusively to the USA. I, as an American, living in Germany, and out of my Chanel 22, wished to replace it, but couldn't. They did not have it at all. I left with Jardins de Bagatelle, by Guerlain, probably the closest to 22. It is better than 5, for me. 5 is an ice princess, and 22 is a warm blooded but complicated woman/goddess. It starts out as a hopeful romance, floral, but then transitions to so much more, and epic romance. The dry down incense is insane, and the lasting power is more than a day. Months on clothing.

I have tried 1000's-thousands-of-thousands of perfumes, hundreds I owe and few dozens I wear on daily basis. I've got perfumes which were not advertised anywhere else and only been sold to special clientele, like sheiks, princes or VIP's of MENA, but this brand of I think quite ordinary stuff, because when you are at certain level, those brands which you see with "impossible" prices become ordinary like things made in china - this stuff is different. No22 indeed feels like those times when you search for "roaring 20s" in the yt. It is actually quite cheap compared to the how much perfumes could really cost or how much true perfume fanatics pay, but imho this shouldn't matter as long as the one can fully appreciate and understand it (ideally - fully). I would say and I'm seriously thinking about making this my "signature scent", at least for 2022 as in this year - exactly 100 years ago this perfume was created! I think it is a good time to celebrate and wear it as much as possible. I'm not going to describe it in words because no words can match, one has to try it oneself.
What a great review, as usual. I'm getting myself now a bottle of N° 22 in the EDT concentration and I can't just wait to have it with me, since I tried it in the boutique I could never forget it. It's a very special fragrance indeed, its flowery aspect with the aldehydes and the buttery quality is just great. Now let me ask you something, because I don't have any experience with extracts, the only one I know and wore was Poivre by Caron. Do Chanel extracts last and make you feel smelling good with only a few dabs on the neck? Is it really enough? I don't care if a perfume doesn't project a lot, but I like to smell my perfume sorrrounding me and feel intoxicated with it. I definitely have to try them in the parfum form.
+toiletteavecparfum Thank you for the lovely comment :) I am sure you will have a lot of fun with N22 :) The parfum lasts a long time. its not a projection monster but you will smell it and sense it for hours and hours. But to be honest, the toilette version of N22 is also a very powerful and long lasting perfume. I just prefer the parfum version not because it lasts longer but simply because it smells even more textured, layered, rich and balsamic. It has a bit less aldehydes in the opening and it cuts quicker into the mystical part of N22 :)
Oh, got it. I have always been curious with those extracts, hope I can try them soon enough. And I have always wondered what I ask you, because being used to wearing EDTs and EDPs, it is quite difficult for me to imagine what those simple dabs can do.But as for N° 22 EDT, I do remember it being powerful and long lasting. And I forgot to mention in my previous coment, I loved your comparison with Alice, falling through a tunnel of petals. Such a wonder!
Thank you so much :) Glad you liked the Alice comparison! You know, pure parfums are not always stronger than the EDTs or EDPs... In fact, if you check out my N5 review, I say there that the pure parfum is lighter than the EDT and EDP. This is because the ingrediaents are nobler and higher quality. Don't be fooled by the small bottles. They last forever with me and as I said before, the texture of pure parfums is more about the deeper laylering of precious ingredients and the more sophisticated balance between all ingredients. They just make me dream more... There are however perfumes I love that are only in existance in EDT form... I ADORE Cristalle (original was only EDT) and I love CHANCE eau friche, eau tendre and the new eau vive :)
Right, thanks a lot for the explanations. I suppose I will like the extracts them, since I love to smell the fragrance deeply around me. I'm a little selfish with that, because I want all the glory of the fragrance to myself, and if people can smell me, to me that's a bonus. Plus, I tend to prefer richer ingredients. The floral absolutes are definitely my favorite scents in perfumery, I love that freshness and that naturality of the quality ingredients. And I like EDTs as well, in many cases I like them better than the EDPs. Thanks for your repplies, so kind of you!

I have just fallen in love with the dry down of no 22. Can you tell me anything about this in re-formulation. Would you buy the perfume extrait? I had a sample of edp.
Hi Liz. I have the parfum (extrait) and I LOVE it. I show it and review it in my video. I don't understand your question about wether or not I would buy it since I already bought it... but on another note the EDT is amazing! The EDP is a rip off in my opinion since its way more expensive than the edt and has lesser quality ingredients in it. CHANEL decided to discontinue the edt in favor of more money (the EDP) and the entire composition of the EDPs is of lesser quality than the EDTs used to be so I am not having it! If you have tried the EDT and compared it to the EDP and still prefer the EDP than I would say go for the EDP but othewise please try the EDT first before you go for the overpriced EDP ;) xoxo
Super Dacob - you have answered my question which was whether it would be worth trying the extrait which was my intention. I love your videos because they are so reflective eg about Chanel.
I could live with these 2 for life! Chanel 22 and 19.
Actually, my other go to fragrance is by Guerlain, and discovered after coming back to the States. The closest to 22 when I was in Germany, was Jardins de Bagatelle, it shares the aldehyde ooomph, and white florals, staying power, but not the depth. The newer scent, which is my alternate to 22 is Attrape Coeur, I think while I was in Germany, the previous lauch of it as Guet-Apens had not occurred. Attrape Coeur has many of the same elements, and I think lingers just a bit less than 22, but it has the same enveloping sexuality without being in your face that 22 has, but less romance. If Guerlain had somehow merged the aldehydic notes of Jardins de Bagatelle, and the white floral romance with Attrape Coeur, it would be nearly identical to 22. Just my opinion. I do still wear all three, though mostly 22, and then especially in winter, Attrape Coeur. They are all beautiful.

cuir the russie is the strongests and no 5 parfum is like its settled from the first minut .. close to my skin ..

Thank you Pascalle. The pure parfum of N°5 is very much close to the skin. It is not as screaming and loud as the eau de parfum but it lasts long and whoever has the luck to come close to you will get a chance to smell its delicate beauty. The pure parfum of N°5 is all about being intimate and close. N°22 PARFUM is also a very elegant and sophisticated formulation and concentration that unfolds its beauty when one comes close the skin of who wears it. xoxo
Super Dacob one more question ; which off the pure parfums is the more stronger .. cause no 5 for me is too soft ... thinking off no 22 or beige ( Cuir i have 15ml which is great )
N°22 is stronger than the others for sure.
Wish they kept the classic white or black canisters. Why do they always remove the best? This canister was gorgeous and perfect.

Rubbing won't break the molecules. The only thing that could happen is that volatile substances will fade quicker away. So I think the opening could fade away quicker.

in the game bingo, here in the philippines we just don't say .."LETTER I, 22", nope sometime we use funny terms to state a number. No.22=dalawang madreng nakaluhod (two nuns kneeling) see for yourself the resemblance. Also, Mademoiselle had a strong affinity with "NUNS" as growing up with then throughout her childhood.
Hello to you, a few days ago I bought again a biography about Coco Chanel as I tried to get them all since I'm in search for new details ,new things ,that one bio doesn't tell me. Anyway to make a long story short, so today I would like to share something with you that you might already know or not but anyway I really wanted to tell you in any case : anong all the samples that Ernest Beaux presented to Gabrielle she initially chose number 22, but then she changed her mind because her lucky number was Number 5 can you believe that!! She initial picked the number 22 !!
Yes, this is other stories are legends. We are not certain of the truth of this story but honestly, when we smell N°22 we realize that it is as strong if not even stronger than N°22 in character although N°5 does smell more abstract and hence more timeless than N°22.... but again in N°22's defense, no other perfume smells even close to it while n°5 has its counterpart in Guerlain's Liu... ;)

I wish I could find this in my country, I'm not a fan of Chanel fragances, the only ones that I like belong to the "Chance" line, but I'm intrigued about this one, my favorite perfume is "tea rose" by perfumers workshop, another grannie fragance like many people have said to me haha.

Is N°22 available again??? I received a bottle of it when I was 15 !!
The pure parfum of N°22 was always available and is still available. The EDT has been discontinued and now you can get the EDP instead of the EDT but I would not recommend the EDP.
I have always loved No 22 but have never been able to find it till recently. Gucci Bloom reminds me of No 22 from my memory but I won’t know till I purchase No 22 to smell it again.
They are quite different to my nose. xoxo
