    Thank you very much for this video. I lost an entire bag of the bolts for putting my front clip back together and I was trying to figure out what kind of bolts we're needed for the hinge spring supports for the hood. Now I know what kind I need. You're a godsend. Thank you.

      I'm debating it. Either selling the truck or the Tahoe.. one or the other.. But.. may be on the hunt for another truck to do. Would like to buy em...fix em up a little...flip em and do it all over again.

    I know this is an old video, but I have a question on the fender. Was the fender OEM Ford or aftermarket? I have an aftermarket fender from Taiwan, and I have no gap between the door and fender. I think I am going to have to install some sort of spacers on the radiator support to move the fender about 3/16” forward, away from the door. Just pain in the ass.

      Typically it is not as hot as it was all summer long around here, but I did end up buying a new fan that blows quite a bit of air. Only problem is, I cant really run it while making video's because of the noise. It isn't real loud, but still something running in the background. It has finally cooled off some and before you know it the cold dreary winter will be upon us and I will be wishing it was 100+ degrees out. LOL! I would love to get a plate from the UK!! That would be amazing!!

    Hey love the video's!! I have a 1993 f350 that I replaced the driver side fender on from a salvage yard, and the gaps between the hood and door are complete shit... the fender is really pretty straight and I cant figure out why it doesn't fit good or even decent... any suggestions on what I should do?

      I love these trucks. My green truck I have owned since new, that's why I have such an attachment to that one... and why I tend to baby it a little. She has paid her dues, been there done that and has nothing to prove. Before fixing her up I was contemplating buying a new truck, then decided to fix her up instead... she deserved it. Best darn truck I could have ever asked for... has never let me down. I would like to get a brick nose and a bull nose truck as well. The only chevy I really like are the mid-late 70's and I may do one of those at some point... We'll see. Thanks for watching, keep coming back, lots more to come!!

    Could that hood be slightly bowed and tweaked forward of the spring point?

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything is possible.. I don't think so though. I don't think these fords are generally known for that, and the truck it came off of it seemed to fit fine on. I will get it figured out. LOL Its not "bad".. but like anything, you stare at it long enough, you will see faults in it of some kind.

    Down here in Florida. Humidity is an everyday thing haha. High 90s almost a 100 degrees every day. It truly does suck man

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      But you are used to it. LOL! It has just been abnormally hot for us up here in the Midwest, and so fricken humid, no air movement, just felt swampy! We are starting to get a break now though and supposed to be down around 80 by the end of the week. Looking forward to it that's for sure!

    • @JRomanosky21
      @JRomanosky21 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +The Fox Shop Yeah that's true. nobody is truly used to it haha. Everyone kinda just stays inside. We had a 85% humidity yesterday

    Have you had any trouble with the hood not wanting to stay up? Mine won't stay up so easily now that I've had it completely off and put back on. It slammed me in the back of my head once already. Any advice?

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, havent had that problem. Sounds like the springs / coils that hold your hood open must be worn out.

      Also needing to do my front brakes for the first time in my life. Still watching youtube vids, already read the Haynes manual. Bought new rotors today and a Lisle brake pad pressing tool but won't be able to get the calipers and pads until next weekend. I want to paint the areas on the rotor that dont contact the pads, a clear or candy blue and the rotors candy blue or candy red. Hopefully, I will have enough time to do this before the front brakes give out on me completely.

    When you're done with the truck, you're going to want to keep it! It's going to look great!

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I fully expect it to look darn good when done. Going back and forth on it.. either it or my Tahoe are going. There are good and bad of each.. Tahoe would be better for long road trips...but... don't take many long road trips and my wife has a Tahoe as well. I have never ben attached to the Tahoe.. I am a Ford truck guy.. the truck has less miles... yet the whole idea was to fix it up, flip it, and do it again. Lot of different ideas floating around in my head and I'm not 100% set on a lot of them. We shall see what happens!

    • @helivesonforever
      @helivesonforever 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Fox Shop Hey I know you said you were going up to that junkyard soon. Do you know if they have any good leather seats for a Tahoe like yours? I just bought one from Alabama and the seats are wasted but the body is clean! I would like to stick with leather, but if I could find a good set of matching cloth ones, I would think about switching them all over. The front drivers seat is a 60-40 split with the flipdown console, and the interior is tan in color.
      See how the truck comes out before making a decision I guess! I really like my Chevy stepside, but honestly a newer stepside truck kind of looks a little silly nowadays. I fixed mine up kind of like how you fixed your green truck up, minus the rust repair since mine spent most of its life in Texas. Sometimes I wish it had a regular bed on it for practicality reasons, but other times I sit back and look at it as a one of a kind truck that will probably never be made again.

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I have already made the trip to the salvage yard now (vids run behind real life sometimes)... didn't make my way over to the GM side of things. I haven't seen any with leather before, but will take a look the next time I head down there. I know how you feel about the stepside / flareside. I have never been a big fan of them, but it is growing on me. You don't see nearly as many of them... especially a flareside extended cab... and then there is a certain group of people that just love em!! The one thing I like about the flareside is the bed sides are fiberglass, so they wont rust! The only thing I wish it had that it doesn't is a manual transmission. I just really like a manual, and that is also something you just cant get anymore.

    • @helivesonforever
      @helivesonforever 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Fox Shop I think the last truck to roll off the line with a factory manual transmission was a base model dodge ram 2500 in 2011, maybe a little bit later. I'm surprised they don't still make a manual, they were so rock solid.
      I don't know if the ford flaresides are the same way with their bedsides as the chevy's, but the chevy's still have a steel section that rusts really bad right up top where the bed lip folds over. . The fenders are "fiberglass" on the 88-98's, but are plastic on any newer Chevy truck. The plastic ones were really fragile and cracked super easily. I've yet to come across one that didn't have some kind of cracking on it. Not to mention that the steps are so small that they're practically useless on the newer trucks. Anyway, the design is really bad on the chevy's, so salt and water just accumulate right up in the steel section and can't drain out. Most of them up here are rusted out there. Someone's I looked at said it was because they put sound deadning foam in the lip, but interestingly enough, mine didn't have any foam in them at all when I took my bedsides off. His did though, but it was a 92 and mine is a 97.
