Hale and Pace are largely forgotten today, which is a great shame, as they were truly the masters of black comedy. As in the manner of Les Dawson before them, Hale and Pace created the the most enjoyable of times out of sheer hell... the suicide by gunshot at the end of this song being a prime example. I love the clever breaking from rhyme near the beginning - "People show me pity, they say I'm a sorry sod; But I am here to tell them that they're absolutely RIGHT..."
Norman Pace has a really good voice and a great sense of performance
both him and Gareth Hale have. A sad state of affairs that these two have more talent than the top 40 artists inth e charts today COMBINED!
