Every time i watch one of your reactions i get enjoyment just from your facial reactions. Why? Im in my mid sixties and it reminds me of the joy of duscovering these songs i had as a young man. Keep discovering the enjoyment that good music can bring along with memories youll have later. Totally enjoy your channel young man.
I thought it was just me until I read your comment. There's something about this guy that is very enjoyable to watch and the way he runs his channel and doesn't talk and stop it every 10 seconds and then his input on the music and the lyrics ! There's something very unique and calming about the way he speaks and presents himself ! If he's new to TH-cam he will go far !
I've seen them in concert many times and when I tell you they bring all their instruments that are in their songs and there are many many instruments on the stage ! I would have to say Supertramp had more instruments in their band than any other classic rock band from the 60s and 70s ! You mentioned the keyboards they literally have 3 members of the band that play the keyboards ! In their song child of vision All 3 members that play the keyboards are playing the keyboards in that song ! I noticed it when I watched the video from their live concert in Paris in 1979 !
This is one of my favorite Supertramp songs, specifically because of the instrumentation! You must add "Bloody Well Right" for another Supertramp reaction! Supertramp is a deep rabbit hole that you need to keep exploring! Thanks for another great reaction! ✌💙✌
I just started following you today and I've been checking out all your reactions and I'm so glad to see that you're a Supertramp fan ! They've been my favorite band since the first time I heard them in the mid-seventies ! One of the lead singers Roger Hodgson still tours to this day and anytime he's in Saint Louis I am front row -n- center !
These guys have a super deep catalog that is worth diving into. Their lyrics are very on point with social issues and the music is second to none. This is some of the best 70's at its best dont sleep on these guys.💯💪✌️👍
I am so proud of you in discovering one of the best bands of all time. In 1979 they had the number one album in the country, BREAKFAST IN AMERICA. This song " SCHOOL" is one of many vibes and a banger off their CRIME OF THE CENTURY album. TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME AND THE LOGICAL SONG worth a listen.
🎵 When this album first came out, my boyfriend and I were managing a bar (West Allis, Wisconsin 🍻 The O'Zone baby!) Another tavern owner had just put a new stereo system in at his place, and invited us over, telling us to bring Crime of the Century along. So he sets the tonearm down on the spinning album, and, thinking the volume level must be set too low, he Really cranks it up - and the crescendo hits like a canon shot - blowing out his new speakers. Ooops 😂
Rick Davies starts with the harmonica, then Wurlitzer electric piano, (Xylophone), and then Piano. The Maracas is Roger Hodgson's, the lead singer in this song, voice. He is saying shhh, shhh, shhh. John Helliwell plays clarinet throughout the song. Dougie Thompson, the bass player, begins with an organ and then switches to bass. Bob Siebenberg plays drums.
Supertramp has been my favourite band for 50 years ever since I first listened to the entire Crime of the Century album on my little turntable as a 12 year old in 1975, the year after the album was released. As great as the musicianship is among Supertramp's 5 members, for me their music is really about the lyrics and School is no different. Co-lead singers/songwriters Roger Hodgson and Richard Davies wrote smart lysics that could be socially conscious, brutally realistic, dark, dreary and spiritual but usually they offered a glimmer of hope for an individual's plight or humanity. Make sure you read and try to digest their lyrics. That is why Supertamp often requires repeated listens - their superior musicianship and amazingly poignant and honest lyrics are always vying for your attention.
M...I guess you've figured out by now that there are litterally 100's of artists ( bands, male & female solos) from this golden era of Rock ,pop , soul/R&b/ Blues and yes even country (believe me ,you will get there ) that you have to discover and LOVE ! :)
NICE!! BLOODY WELL RIGHT is probably my favorite! Also; GIVE A LITTLE BIT DREAMER EVEN IN THE QUIETEST MOMENTS,,,,, are a few other greats! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼
Crime of the Century is a GREAT album! It is heavier material than the later Supertramp you've hit before. It was a reference record for audiophiles back in the day. The writing, instrumental arranging, singing, playing, emotional power, production, and dramatic pacing (especially that on top of the all rest) on this record are all top-notch. Yes is also worth returning to especially pre-80s Yes. Chris Squire was one of the most melodic bassists in rock.
You actually need to listen to this whole Crime Of The Century album. I'm gonna date myself, but I was in Tower Records in the Bay Area of California when I heard that come on school with the harmonica… Amazing album to listen to complex but fun.
🎶 Don't criticize, we're old and wise Do as we tell you to Don't want the devil to Come and put out your eyes! 🎶 (...so, did we turn into our parents anyway, even though we swore we wouldn't ?! )
Don't, personally, critique art from any era; but classic rock seems to have the most expressive and variety of expression when it comes to musical art

I agree it is fun to watch. People have reactions to great songs. They never heard… It does remind us of that first time hearing it.

LOVE this song. One of my top ten list. Just has so many ebs and flows.
Supertramp really knows how to use the sax and other woodwinds. True musicians.
Supertramp has such a great catelog! The musicality and vocal capability of these men is unmatched.
very well said
This song doesn't repeat in the traditional verse to chorus form, but is played profoundly and dynamically within key.

Supertramp have excellent musical compositions, never boring or the same, & then their insightful lyrics on top of that. Great band.

If you like the Keys taking you on a trip, try Supertramp's song "Bloody Well Right"
you'll be tripping on the beginning keyboard action
Thanks, Dreez.. this is actually my favorite by Supertramp.. (Logical song is 2nd). appreciate your reaction!
This is one of the best pop/progressive albums ever recorded. If you want an epic musical journey, check out the tracks Rudy and Asylum

Crime of the Century is a truly great album, no fillers or weaknesses.

Hi this is an concept album about the life of Rudy…
Thanks for all the great music! Could you check out Genesis with Phil Collins - Tell Me Why - That would be great! 🤩🤩🤩
Don't, personally, critique art from any era; but classic rock seems to have the most expressive and variety of expression when it comes to musical art
Give a little bit from them is great. Please check out Dreamweaver from Gary Wright 🙏. Great reaction and Peace out 🙏 ☮️ ✌️
Wow, I really appreciate your comment at the end. Most current music is of the cookie cutter variety, not much variation. Thanks for noticing!
Could you check out Genesis with Phil Collins - Tell Me Why - that would be great! 🤩🤩🤩
Not a bad song on this album.
English boarding school=trauma
Rudy
More Yes, but don't sleep on GENESIS or Pink Floyd. Early Genesis and Pink Floyd have mind-bendingly excellent music!
try hide in your shell, its about someone trying to prevent a suicde of a kid.
Bloody Well Right , Dreamer and Child of Vision should all further your love for this band . if not - well you just don't like them . which is fine
Great song.
Check out Nights Are Forever Without You by England Dan and John Ford Coley
