I think your title worked pretty well 😉. Great comparison video! Oh, I had fun dissecting this one. The 4060 was released in 2023, but it's such a low end card its great seeing 4 year old games bringing it to its knees. So with these rough averages:
    RDR2
    1080p
    GPU 90%
    CPU 85%
    1440p
    GPU 95%+
    CPU 80%
RDR2 is no joke pegging that GPU. I gotta admit I pumped 100+ hours into RDR2 during my xmas vacay😁. What a perfect pair of GPU and CPU with both being around 90%.
    Jedi
    1080p
    GPU 40%
    CPU 75%
    1440p
    GPU 45%
    CPU 70%
Kinda sad to not see it utilize that 4060 some more. Its figures like this that really makes people scream unoptimized, and it should downright piss you off. Some people might say it is CPU bottlenecking, but that CPU can still be utilized more. RDR2 coming out 3 years earlier is doing a fantastic job fully using the GPU and CPU.
    Starfield
    1080p
    GPU 99%
    CPU 80%
    1440p
    GPU 99%
    CPU 60%
Clear GPU bottlenecking with Starfield putting a gun to the 4060's head and making it work itself to the bone.
    Witcher
    1080p
    GPU 90%
    CPU 60%
    1440p
    GPU 99%
    CPU 60%
Same as Starfield with good use of the GPU. Crazy to think it came out in 2015 but has been optimized well enough to max out the GPU.
    Fallout4
    1080p
    GPU 40%
    CPU 30%
    1440p
    GPU 40%
    CPU 20%
That 30fps cap. Hmm! I pulled this from the Hardforum:
    Open Fallout4Pref.ini (located at C:\Users\(your name)\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\).
Look for iPresentInterval=1, and change it to iPresentInterval=0 This should unlock your frame rate.
    Let me know!
    Company of Heroes 3
    1080p
    GPU 55%
    CPU 50%
    1440p
    GPU 80%
    CPU 50%
Interesting results considering 1080p is supposed to be more CPU bound yet CPU% didn't change much between 1080p and 1440p.
    GTA V
    1440p
    GPU 60%
    CPU 60%
GTA V had it's last big update like in 2016 I believe, and the game came out on 2013. At least it supports DLSS, but it still a pretty old game with lots of limitations. I bet there are texture mods out there that will increase GPU utilization, though.
I just saw an E3-1275 with 16GB of ram but no drive on Ebay for $90 shipped. Imagine just throwing in a 4060 and a drive and BAM you are flying with some games! This is great to know that a hand me down E3 can still be a great starter rig for someone.Variation in game settings will always make GPU and CPU differences, but your video shows just how a $17 CPU can still hold its own. You found the GTA 5 benchmark. Don't forget to look out for it in other games, too. RDR2 has a benchmark as well. Great vid!

Hey there. Thanks for title inspirations! Another subscriber mentioned that Jedi survivor is a counsel port so it's badly unoptimized. I'm trying to keep a spreadsheet of these rough averages and maybe make a comparison compilation video idk. I'll look for the RD2 benchmark ty. This free mobo only could take 16 gig of ram so maybe a better one and more ram could have helped a bit. Jamming my 6700XT in this setup would be silly lol but fun to try. I guess I used these older entry level parts, Except for the GPU, and like you mentioned $90 and Bam you've got yourself a solid entry level gaming platform!

@@RememberThisTech What game today isn't a console port LMAO. GTA V & RDR 2 were first released on consoles. Even if the console version of the game is released the same day as the PC version, developers tend to get sloppy and leave the PC version a mess. It can sometimes take over a year for the game to finally get optimized IF they even bother to fix it. You can't blame them since more money is on the consoles...for now. Still a pain to think about considering they make the damn game on a PC. Your FPS counter should have an avg count you can turn on. If it doesn't, it might have an export feature which dumps the numbers into a text or cvs file. Then grab like 30 or 50 of them and get the average in a spreadsheet. Comparison videos are always fun since plenty of people love looking at the numbers like taking your best video card, installing it on your best, average, and worst PC (all with at least 16GB of ram to be fair), running the RDR2 benchmark on 1440p, and showing the CPU%, GPU%, FPS low, FPS avg, and FPS high. You start seeing really fun things like noticing going from an old to newer CPU on a GPU bound game might not make a difference with FPS high but it may make a difference with FPS low.

You could try that other card in it just to see if there is a significant improvement in performance, however, that system performed well and in my opinion it was good value for the price.

in afterburner, instead of GPU/CPU, it would be nice to put the name of the gpu/cpu and if it's not stock. also add it in the description so it's easy for the algorithm to recommend it

This is very good actually. I've been wanting to build a second gaming PC but still not sure if i should get a socket x79 combo or x99 combo ? Since i have a GTX 1060 gpu i want to use it in some build instead of letting it collect dust.

Hi there! As far as I know, the x79 and 99 used are still expensive. Maybe you could get a knock-off board new from Ali Express? Do you need those features for the 79 mobo, or could you get by on the cheaper side? All good things that I'd consider. What cpu do you have for this second gaming build? The gtx 1060 is still and ok card too. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂

My son got a hand me down gpu when I upgraded last year, so for his Christmas I decided to upgrade the rest of his system. I wasn't looking to spend much since it doesn't take much to max out a 1070. I tried pricing am4 boards and even the cheap first gen a320's were still going for like $70. I think they were cheaper when they were new lol. Inflation I guess? I scrapped the am4 idea when I happened on a listing for an asrock e3v5 ws. It has an intel 1151 socket, but its different. The WS in the name means its a workstation board, so it takes xeons. I paired it with an e3 1240v6 that I got for $25. It's basically an i7 7700. The board I got from aliexpress for $40. I was also shocked how cheap ddr4 has gotten. I got 16gb for only $20. I think this might be the meta for a budget build.. that or I'm just super cheap. Either way, its a huge bump from his old ivy bridge cpu.
That Jedi Survivor test looked kinda wonky. It seemed to be maxing out your ram and nearly maxing out the vram. I wonder whats up with that. Another interesting video. Thanks

    • @RememberThisTech
      @RememberThisTech 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Hi there. That's a sizable upgrade for your son for sure. Great price on that 1230v6! Did that's asrock ws mobo have nvme on it? As far as the Jedi Survivor using all the system ram, it will use 15 to 16 gig of ram always. It's always used that much on every system I've tested it on. Having only 16 gif of ram in a system and trying to run it on a lower end computer will cause major problems. You realy need 32 gig. But this was a cheap build and that msi board had only 2 mem slots so hey lol it did ok! Thanks again :)

    • @ItIsNot1984
      @ItIsNot1984 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@RememberThisTech There is no nvme on it, so you'd need one of those expansion card adapter things. I thought about getting one for him, but I didn't want to be bothered with copying files over from his ssd to it. The adapters were like $10 on amazon.
And I was super curious about Jedi Survivor so I checked it out. It uses up memory like that because its a console port. Apparently the consoles have 16 gigs total ram, so the ports just magically take up that much. I guess the coming flood of lazy ports will make 32 the new standard.

I think starfield would run better if you put it on dlss instead of fsr 2. You would be using the dedicated hardware. I don't really know though.
