The Pepperami slogan always gets me: "It's a bit of an animal".
It's surprising how many people don't notice the literal meaning, as I've had to point it out to people before. Always gets an "eww", once they realise.

Re national vs regional - bear in mind that there are 10 states that are larger in area than the UK.
We have Welsh language channels in the UK but when it comes to news it still tends to be consumed UK wide with Welsh news at the end.
But to put it in context Wales is about the size of New Jersey with about 3 million population.

Ive always told my children not to lie but then again I told them to tidy up but on this occasion I think the answer should have been yes they did. We still fall about laughing over it especially when anything like this comes on tv, i still dont think that he gets why it is so funny. Long ago, our neighbours' smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night whilst they were away for the weekend. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing we called the fire service, because it would have been terrible not to. Turns out there was no fire, thank goodness, but the fire service , having gained entry, decided the property looked as if it had been 'done over' and called in the police..... Nope- just a family home abandoned on a Friday night, everyone having dropped all work/school things as they came in. After that we always told each other not to leave a mess when going going out, in case someone called the 'Tidy Police!'

    • @JacknVictor
      @JacknVictor 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Wrap in cheese then bacon, then pastry then bake. You can thank me later.
Pepperami are also good if you fry them to heat them up, and then dip them in to a boiled egg. Also good for toppings in homemade pizzas, or slicing up and adding to noodles. 20 odd year's ago as a student, pepperami became essential cooking ingredients, they could add a lot of flavour to a dish.
The beef ones are amazing when you can get hold of them.
I probably wouldn't eat them if I knew how they were made and what from, so I don't search out for that info. I would rather eat them in ignorant bliss. Same goes for rustlers burgers. I'm quite an accomplished cook within the borders of mine and my friends kitchens, making list dishes, more refined meals, but every now and then I'll indulge in a pepperami or a rustlers.
Baked beans with a diced up rustlers burger patty, a pepperami diced up, some herbs and BBQ sauce added, cooked in the hob, then poured over some freshly cooked fries and a tonne of grated cheese on top, 2 eggs on top of that, and some fried bread, a splash of HP sauce, it is the dinner of champions - literally! ( I had it after winning a 6 hour table football marathon, making me champion of our dorm league back at college) it was very tasty. Reminded me of a better quality version of those tinned all day breakfasts. Which I know probably doesn't help it to sound appetising but it honestly was very nice.
I need to make it again. It's been 25 years or more.

The Tango ad on the White Cliffs was good, but a lot of Tango ads were banned. They had a fat, bald, almost naked guy who was dyed orange all over, and he used to run up to random people (actors, of course) in the street and give them a cupped hand slap on both ears. They were banned because people (especially kids) used to do it to their friends, and cause a lot of perforated/burst ear drums. th-cam.com/video/iqVFnxHWnlc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gxBzgHRpm_0-4Ccb

4:28 It's some amazing visual effects for the time, but they did make a slight cock-up.
If you look at the people following, then you can see them getting cut off at the edge.
Whoever was running behind them with a green screen, in order to cut them out in the edit later, didn't quite match the camera panning speed.
It's still brilliantly done, as they've really seamlessly hidden the cut.
The real genius is that this was actually a major trick shot - green screens, compositing, morphing, etc. - like you'd find in a movie, but for something so mundane and ordinary (just a silly joke ad) that you're just not expecting it.
I feel the actual cut is around 4:33 - the quality just so ever-so-slightly shifts - but they've hidden it using that "morphing" technology of the '90s (you know the one, that Michael Jackson used in his "black or white" music video). Still, the actors had to have hit their marks as perfectly as possible to get the shot to work, and doubtless it took so many takes to get it exactly right that they could use it.

As a former resident of Dover, it is with sadness I have to admit those are not the White Cliffs of Dover, but probably Beachy Head or one of the Seven Sisters, taller and whiter and stretching further that the famous Dover ones. The fame of Dover's cliffs comes partly from the song, and partly from the fact that people crossing the Channel at its narrowest point, feel the pangs of home. @Jackdar1pp3r1 Blackcurrants being enjoyed in England, and not the rest of the UK... *that* is the hill you want to die on, here? As for the "you already took enough from us" comment, holy shite. Someone call him a whambulance. You... a person from England... is upset about the people (from other countries) taking things away from you? Do you have even the slightest concept of how ironic that is?

I was in the crowd at the soccer cigar ad. It was filmed at the Old Cardiff Arms Park before it was rebuilt for the 1999 World Cup. There wasn’t much of a crowd, we just had to move around for different angles!
