Oh my goodness Emma, your words while talking about not wanting the urban sprawl and longing for LESS made me cry. It spoke to me so much and you articulated it so beautifully. I feel exactly the same. I am SO blessed to live in a small town in Maine, USA- a place with natural spaces down the road and wilderness not far away. I sincerely hope that you find your happiness and are able to move away from urban life. (Also, I want that section of your voiceover written down so I can read it and consume it over and over again, like poetry.) “one grows sick on the excess” “give me the grass…the wide open, and the foamy wake, and the whales”. I mean come ON, my SOUL 😍😍😍
Emma, your travel vlogs always make me cry. 😢 Thank you for documenting your trips to these gorgeous places that many of us may never see for ourselves. I very much respect how well you know what you want and your commitment to it. I’m sure that you will find the piece of this Earth where you belong. I love your channel and get so much joy out of your content. You’re the only TH-camr for who I have notifications turned on. ❤
I'm sitting here crying over the beauty of this vlog and some things you were saying. I moved to a small irish farm a couple of years ago but at the moment have to go back to germany over the winter (jobwise). People keep telling me that I should be grateful, because there's so much more happening in germany, clubs, theatres, cafes, everyone is always involved in so many projects. And yes, I can appreciate all of it but I don't miss it when I don't have it. My life here in ireland consists of waking up with the birds, being outside all day working on the farm, reading a book, going to bed. Not what most people would find very exciting but to me it is everything ❤ I wish you all the best in your journey of finding such a place for yourself!
The best travel vlog I have seen. Idk why but I cried when you were talking about why you like the countryside and all that one can find there! It made me feel so at peace. Your voice and it’s smoothness makes me feel so comfortable, the music choice for the video was perfect, the video shots they all make perfect sense and tell a story by its own… everything of this video is right. Thank you for making art and sharing it with us! You inspire! 🫶🏼
Omg Emma I’m from Newfoundland! I’m so glad you visited, I’m a bit biased but this is a magical place with so much beauty that hasn’t been seen by enough people.
I visited St. John’s for 10 days in 2018. I had had a rough surgery earlier that year, one which I’ve never recovered fully from. I spent all of my money and flew there from Ireland to stay with a friend and that trip has had such a profound impact on me. It felt for me like the dividing line between fighting sickness and disability, and coming home and settling into and accepting a new way of living, knowing I’d never return to work or a life that feels ‘normal’ again. Thanks so much for allowing me to revisit. I’m so glad you loved your trip 💙
Your voice over was so beautifully put Emma ! Made me cry . Also everytime I see a video I pray for you . I went through a bad break up followed by other scary things in 2021/2022. I’m pretty sure finding your channel and reading books damn saved my life like actually. I don’t mean that to be so heavy , but I always say god bless Emma, this young lady saved my life. ❤ as a spiritual person it was just like ya know “hey you’ll get through all this if you spend a year or two reading some stuff” :) pretty 😊cool . Thank you sincerely
Not me tearing up at your beautiful words... I grew up in a quiet and small neighbourhood and everytime i have to go back to the city for my studies I just dread it so much, it takes such a toll on you without you even realizing it... anyway back in the city this year again and I am graced with construction work noise from 8am to 6pm, makes me want to scream... so thank you for these 35 minutes of peace and quiet and beautiful landscapes
the way i teared up watching you getting to see an iceberg Emma I'm incredibly happy for you. you have a talent to make these vlogs so personal and emotional making me want to visit places i didn't even know existed. tysm for sharing your experiences with us
this just made me cry. especially the scenes with the whales and the appreciation for nature. it was so beautiful. i feel exactly the same as you described and i'm just so scared i'll never be able to escape this feeling of being trapped. trapped by the city and noise and consumption and excess of everything. it's rare to find people who feel the same, most relish in the feeling of endless consuption but for me it's just suffocating. thank you for sharing this and putting into words what i've been longing for for so long now. i swear one day i'll just leave everything behind and settle down in the middle of nowhere. places like these with icy winds, oceans and mountains or on a ranch in the countryside with an endless expanse of meadows, fields, woods and horses. one day...
Emma, your narration in this vlog is so so gorgeous and so moving, please continue putting your writing out like this, integrated into your videos!!!! The visuals are absolutely stunning as well in this vlog, I am again and again amazed at your talent and just feel so inspired. Thank you for sharing this with us ❤❤
This was such a peaceful and wholesome vlog, it's raining here in my country, and being able to sit here and watch this video is truly a blessing, really! Thank you Emma!🤍
YESSS THE MUFFINS FOR PUFFINS SHIRT!!! What a beautiful vlog. I love when you travel and get to explore nature, not only because you get to be where you're happiest, but also because I also live in an urban environment and get to live vicariously through these travel diaries.
The Two Whales was my great grandads house and where my uncle grew up before it was a coffee shop!! We're from Scotland but have been over 3 times since 2019 as we only found out about our Canadian relatives in 2018!! So lovely to hear that you wanted to go. Its a lovely little place!
What a gorgeous vlog ❤ I cannot wait to read something from you, in whatever form that is. You have such a beautiful way with words and you make these travel videos so special. They make me wanna see new places and get inspired by them. Thank you.
Well done to Emma's Mum for doing all the hikes! Incredible trip. Only thing I knew about Newfoundland (before this vlog) is the 9/11 story of Gander and all the planes landing there. It looks like a magical place.
Emma, you captured how I feel so eloquently! This video along with what you said bought tears to my eyes and a longing so intense that I could only clutch my heart and hope of a quiet life amidst nature one day. Having lived all my life in the city, such holidays feel like homecoming and going back to the urban life feels so difficult afterwards! P.S. Newfoundland seems like absolute heaven and I hope one day we can both live our dreams in a place like this!❤
Emma I've been watching your previous study/ uni vlogs and they makes me feel so motivated to study! I always watch your videos between study breaks, as if they're an energy bar XD. It would be awesome if you could share your process of studying in your future study vlog. Also this place is so out of this world! What a treat to the eyes✨ I'm definitely taking my mum on a trip in future ♥️
Oh Emma! Seeing that iceberg was the coolest thing(pardon the pun)! I've never seen one myself but seeing how much you enjoyed it made it even more fun! You appreciate nature so much❤❤❤❤
This Travel Vlog is so beautiful and the nature is amazing! I love the way you try to describe in your wonderful words what you feel about the Land and the people there and how you appreciate this trip! By the way - your mum seems to be such a humorous, lovely and cool Person like you! 💚
How wonderful its to see all your videos, especially vlogs, it makes my days better. And it just melts my heart hearing beautiful words from you, i don't know how you do to choose the perfect words. You're really inspiring.💗
Seeing how happy you were made me happy. Loved seeing cats run to you. Proof you are a good human. 😺 You write beautifully, with words and images. Thank you for taking us with you.🐋
I love everything about this video Emma! The views are amazing and I have a new-found respect for your Mom, doing all that hiking. I'm so glad you got to have this experience together. ❤
as a student who can't even afford to travel around my own little country of england, this was so heartwarming. to be able to see a corner of this earth that i probably won't see with my own eyes is wonderful. thank you for posting this and giving me a new bucket list travel location.
Newfoundland and Labrador are now on the list of places to go. I'm convinced. Ethereal. Curious. Seemingly, a place still left untouched. A place for Barbour jackets and running the dogs. Thanks for sharing Emma!
You're so lucky to be able to travel with your mom! This was a wonderful trip and I absolutely love your commentary. I can already tell that one day you'll be an incredible writer. 🥰
Such a beautiful vlog, Emma. Thank you for sharing with us the beauty of Newfoundland and your sweet adventures with your mum - it’s so beautiful. That Bilbo quote is so perfect too. I got so emotional with the beautiful wale shots in the open water. WOW.
Newfoundland is stunning. The wildlife is beautiful, seeing whales up close must have been an incredible experience. I guess I have to add visiting Newfoundland to my bucketlist!
This is so beautiful. I was never really sure in which kind of place I wanna live in the future. But now I know: I wanna live in a calm village or town with nature and the sea.
Emma, my girl, you are lucky to be able to see such beauty. And I am so so happy for you!! This video was so soothing to my heart that I can't even describe it. It felt like I am inside a book!! I think I am gonna back again and again for the peace that it gives. I really do hope that you get to see more of such serene places and get to live in one of the purest, most tranquil place for forever!! 🌸
Thank you for capturing your trip so beautifully ❤ I understand how crushing it is to live in a place that isn't right for you. Hope you can move to whatever spot on the map pulls your heart very soon ❤
What a beautiful beautiful video ❤❤❤ I dream of going to Newfoundland as a fellow Canadian, so so happy to see you so happy here and enjoying yourself in such a nature-esque place 🥺💞
What a beautiful travel vlog, Emma! I loved the wonderful places, the nature, the adorable animals, ... So great you went with your mom! Thank you for all the beauty, my friend! 💖☺️
so i recently moved from the Scottish Hebrides, a chain of islands that very much resembles Newfoundland,to Inverness - a City on the Mainland. This utterly magical video has made me ache for the island i left behind and the community that lives. I dont regret moving but this serves as a good reminder to seek the wild out whenever you can ❤ thank you
Wow, this is one of the most beautiful videos I've watched in a long time. And you're making things very difficult for me! I'm planning my first ever trip to Canada and have the Rockies/jasper/Banff booked but now I'm thinking Newfoundland 😅 the choices! Thanks for inspiring my travels, you're the best ❤
This is so beautiful! Years ago, I taught Grade 6 Geography. The first unit was Canada. I found a 90-minute DVD that showed every Canadian National Park. Gros Morne was the first park. My students loved it. I taught in an urban school in the American South. Most students had never been outside the city.
What a fantastic vlog! You really put a lot of effort into it and it shows. Well done! Wonderful that you could share this experience with your Mom. Although we all love Ben, maybe solving an Agatha Christie mystery with Mom soon? I imagine that would be a lot of laughs! (The short hair really suits her).
Love love love Newfoundland, Elliston is so beautiful, I have fond memories of my trip in 2016, the people, the landscape, the hikes, the puffins ❤❤❤ 🇨🇦 Gros Morne is literally Middle Earth!
Loved this video 🫶🏼 So wonderful to see the connection between you and your mom! ❤ I really want to visit Canada sometime (I’m from Europe, the Netherlands), the looks/nature reminds me a bit of when I was in Scotland and also Norway. Very impressive those whales! 🥹
Emma, Thank You for taking me to a place I will never get to visit. How wonderful you got to share this first time experience with your Mom.You will both, someday, look at this time spent together as a photograph of a magical memory. Living in Vermont so close to Canada and ive never gone. I need to go. Its such a nostalgic stillness and emotion. And the ethereal beauty among the clouds. Like walking with ghosts
Beautiful, Emma! I'm so happy you got to go on this trip and experience all that. Thank you for sharing your trip and your writing with us. Also, you and your mom sound so much alike! Haha
I really love that you travel the Canada. I am from Québec (Gaspésie area) and that inspires me to do it too! We live in a nice country. I went to Moncton NB this summer. Newfoundland seems so nice!❤❤❤
Right now, there is a heat wave and its going to be in the triple digits for a while. That beautiful landscape was an oasis for my scorched addled subconscious mind. I caught myself smiling by the end and I don't know when I must have taken a drink but glad that somehow I did. Heh, sorry, I guess I just get to thinking when I watch your videos...
Oh what a beautiful place ❤ Thank you so much for sharing! It's very, very hot where I'm at, and this just brought a lot of joy to my cold-weather craving little heart
Emma this trip you took to New Foundland was terrific, what an amazing experience. Puffins are such funny birds and appear in Enid Blyton's "The Sea of Adventure", I always loved reading this story because of the puffins the children befriended. New Foundland is so beautiful, I'm dreaming of New Foundland.
Also, very curious. Did you complete the 5 km loop for the trail in Twillingate with the natural arch? We did it, and it was the HARDEST, most stressful hike I've ever done!!! Trail was ambiguously marked and we were worried we missed a fork.
Your travel videos give me the itch to go live in the woods or find a mountain to climb! 😂 Whilst watching this vlog I keep singing some of the songs from Come From Away as it is also set in Newfoundland. I now have another travel destination on my list! 🥳
Oh my goodness Emma, your words while talking about not wanting the urban sprawl and longing for LESS made me cry. It spoke to me so much and you articulated it so beautifully. Emma, what a wonderful writer you are. The video is beautiful but what you said is so meaningful; it’s going to stay with me too. Awesome work.

That's probably why it's so magical. Like Narnia, not many people find the door.
You look so happy and joyful there. I hope you get to settle someplace like that ❤ you certainly deserve it. Also your mom is amazing
Wonderful commentary on the value and beauty of natural and rural places. I chose a quiet life for myself and do not regret it.
I love how you and your mom can giggle together so readily. You guys must be so lucky to have each other.

Amazing falls!
The water falling backwards on to the rocks.
Needed a break from the city, thank you! Love you Emmie 💕

I was there two weeks ago. I’ve been all over the world, and hands down, Newfoundland is the best place! Next time, be sure to visit Brigus.
Also, very curious. Did you complete the 5 km loop for the trail in Twillingate with the natural arch? We did it, and it was the HARDEST, most stressful hike I've ever done!!! Trail was ambiguously marked and we were worried we missed a fork.
Newfoundland looks absolutely beautiful omg
Your travel videos give me the itch to go live in the woods or find a mountain to climb! 😂
Whilst watching this vlog I keep singing some of the songs from Come From Away as it is also set in Newfoundland.
I now have another travel destination on my list! 🥳
Good night axolotl friend! :)
