@the wooded Beardsman where did you learn about ADOBO? I was thinking because it's one of our popular dish here in Philippines... Anyway I'm one of your fan.. Great job..
@Anonymous Anonymous You're so dense I don't even know what to say to you. It's like we live in different worlds. Have you ever traveled down a road before? There is a huge chance to find roadkill, more or less depending where you live. I can easily believe he just found a roadkill young black bear on the road, during that time of year and location.
This part: "A friendly reminder that this is a ROAD KILLED BEAR and was not taken just to make a video, but was salvaged from waste, cleaned, and then eaten. What we couldn't eat ourselves was distributed throughout our tribe so that nothing was wasted! Nature provides and when it does, be prepared and ready to use it." was really well said, good job sir :)
If people have a problem with you eating a roadkill bear but not with how their store bought meat got on their table, they need to re-assess their priorities.
Difference is we eat herbivores mostly.. ive eaten crocodile, zebra, all types of african antelope (dear or whatever you call it in your country) snake, turtle, porcupine, warthog, 100s of bird species, insects, and the list goes on, but i wont put my mouth on beats meat! Bear, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, tiger, etc. maybe im closed minded (not really i ate more stuff than most people do in their lives) but i just cant imagine eating bear meat. Please tell me, is it good? And what can you compare it to?
here's some advice on smoking your fish. with larger fish you should filet it. but if you dont; split the back down both sides of the back bone make those side cuts an inch or so away from there, and cut small twigs to hold it open. you can then hang it from the mouth using an a frame with a pole at the top. Not experienced with bear or beaver, but as a kid my dad and I would spend 4-5 days in the woods with a small axe, saw, knife, and a .22 rifle. We built lean to's, bow drills, and ate everything from rabbits, birds and squirrels, and one time lucked up and got a feral hog. good times!
A plate of fried buttholes. I think you can get that in southeast Asia. I mean you can get that here in Poland too, but you gotta go to some hunter theme restaurant that probably costs as much as some west Europe places and you will pay accordingly for a plate of buttholes.
You can eat most animals, as long as they are not poisonous. However, you need to make sure that the bear is really well done, because raw bear(just like raw pork btw) can contain trichina and if you catch those worst case scenario is that they infest your heart muscle which can be lethal. I mean, there are animals that are specifically bred to make for a good meal but that doesn´t mean something you can´t find in a store isn´t edible. In fact, with meat you are pretty safe most of the time, at least compared to mushrooms, berries and plants that you really need to know because they might be poisonous.
I know why didn't they show the whole bear it looks like human legs!! With his black socks still on!? And this is definitely going to be used in meme and horror videos
You figured it out. How many things need to be set before we leave. Don't hurt yourself thinking about it, but it didn't just happen, we had to make a lot of decisions and solve more problems than it seems on the surface.
At first I was like that’s kinda messed up killing a small black bear, but the fact that it was road kill is really cool because the bears life did not go to waste.
Lonzo Ball no is fact you, i, we are animals our species being called human doesnt stop making us animal And if think you are not an animal then damm dude i what are a alien?
I really like the fact that you don't waste anything! In this instance it using roadkill or when you ate the fox that got stuck in your snare for the hare. Keep making the awesome videos!!
I don’t see anything wrong with filming the entire process. Whether from cleaning fish to bigger game. I applaud you. I use to enjoy watching my Dad clean the fish he caught. I learned a lot from him. We ate a lot of carp, so I learned how to score (cutting the tiny Y bones) properly.
Discovered this channel last night and now I'm addicted. Absolutely love the videos, makes me want to get back out in the woods. Thanks for letting me be an armchair quarterback, hahahaha
Turning what you go into future spoils is like trading up! It's really not a terrible strategy. Either way, digging costs beaver meat :) Energy in and energy out.
There are often parts of an animal that you don´t really want to eat, unless you are really super short on food, especially some of the entrails. And stinky and gross entrails make for one of the best catfish baits out there. Also, I´d say that maybe a few grams of beaver in exchange for several pounds of fish is a rather good trade.
Get the feeling animal nuts just go from video to video, leaving hate comments and dislikes without even watching, just to make themselves feel important.... Wish youtube's algorithm would just push their comments to the bottom of every video, they add no real value anyway.
How long do you think you could last eating a beaver? Couple weeks...then what? You don't have any food in a deep freezer you're saving for later? Maybe you live hand-to-mouth, but someone is storing your food and farming food so you don't have to worry about your next meal, but when you live from the land, you store up when it's easy enough to get.
lol, you guys are totally nuts, and I love it. As a walking Dead fan, I fully approve of the ending of this vid 😁. I nearly dropped dead from laughing so much!
We were very poor when I was young. Dad was always bringing home roadkill...I'm 51 now and none the worse for wear.... I'll pick up roadkill from time to time, not out of need, thank God, but because I don't want it to go to waste.
glad you found that Bear and saved all that food ! I hope to can alot of Bear this fall I set my game camera up for 5 days and picked it up yesterday and I have 734 pictures of Black Bear on it and only 4 deer I was hopeing to get a nice buck on it but the bears was every where they even rubbed the small hickory I had my camera strapped to so much they knocked my camera down to the ground .but what I thought at a glance was a deer trail turned out to be a bear trail.its called a butt out tool lol it found one in my christmas stocking a few years ago I carry a small piece of para cord and just tie the gut off most times.that Bear will make you several great tasty stews with those taters and carrots and onions and celery thrown in the pot .my Momma makes a killer stew from Black Bear and Bear grease is the best shortining you can find for making Biscuits ,it makes them light and fluffy.
Yesss. Loved this episode. Question about the bear bearservation, bear with me here: Have you bearied food before for bearservation? I heard lack of light, lack of oxygen, cool temperatures, and desiccants in the soil can help bearserve food for an extended period of time (like hybearnation you know?) (im beary sorry about the puns. its a somewhat serious question?)
a great series. I understand the "loop hole" idea. Here in Indiana it is still illegal to possess road kill animals as well. Now I'm not saying I wouldn't or haven't used road kill.

5:55 for the people that love to dislike videos without watching it just because they saw a dead baby bear or cute animal for that matter, its road kill... they didnt go out and just kill a cub because they were hungry.
I was curious about if you have to save and turn in the gall bladder on a road kill bear? There use to be some kind of weird law about that years ago when you shot one during hunting season. It had something to do with the Asian market for them. Thanks
Bear = Trichinosis. Road killed bear by a vehicle other than yours from a day ago or more = up graded to San level 9000 goku Trichinosis. You gotta have balls like baseballs to eat a bear like that. You guys are real back woods warriors.
not a native but one way to prepare salmon is litterally ripping outthe spine and all the bones with your hands, the meat is soft enough for the bones to slice through. Ray mears does it in his video about sweden, i like that method alot.
I have tried, and the meat needs to be mostly spoiled first, that's the soft part. I think Ray got his fish from the store for that one so it was well bad. I've done it like he says though!!!
aha i didnt know that, it does work for the salmon i used to catch in my nets wen i was fishing comercially. So does it spoil overnight then in my nets? if so i realy need to find a new way to catch them alive.

Another great way to catch a bear, dig a hole put corn around the hole put ash in the hole and then kick the bear in the ash hole.
The Wooded Beardsman o
Jeffrey DeRouen .
A friendly reminder that this is a ROAD KILLED BEAR and was not taken just to make a video, but was salvaged from waste, cleaned, and then eaten.
i wouldnt see an issue even if it was hunted and eaten
bashpr0mpt if it were still alive I'd kill it for food and for views
@@Andreas_Mann I love you forever for you name and pfp

Lol the butthole part was good but even funnier is how it looks like a dead guy hung upside down wearing bear paw slippers..it's killing me
It can be hard to get used to. That's what I thought first time I cleaned one up years ago.
BLACK HOODY I was thinking the same thing!
Thought the exact same thing
But what you didnt know was that it was a dead guy with bear slippers

1 table spoon paprika
2 teaspoons pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chilli powder (optional - I don't add this)
Liver + onions + tomatoes + salt + pepper + garlic. And some lemon juice after serving.

Jay justice But if people killed the bear for game and left it. Those guys need to be murdered and eaten as well.
Gabriel Payne LMAO bit extreme
Gabriel Payne it wouldn't have gone to waste in the wild either. Nature would have cleaned it up also.
you have a bad taste sense of humor mate

Nature doesn't know how to waste. If not us, it would have been eaten by something else..count on it!!!
The Wooded Beardsman very true.
Props on not letting that bear goto waste. You guys gave its life a purpose by using it when you could have let it rot.
Nice use of the bear! Many people would have just left it to rot... Hope the rest of your 'tribe' is enjoying it too :)
They are! Meat for months!

Just after you smoked the fish i heard the loon and then i heard the beep beep beep from construction. Remember how lucky you are when your out there!
Yeah I keep that in mind all the time.
I'd suggest digging up worms, or collecting bugs for catfish bait. Not using your precious beaver meat.
Turning what you go into future spoils is like trading up! It's really not a terrible strategy. Either way, digging costs beaver meat :) Energy in and energy out.
