someone told me that dramione is the gateway to tomione and BOY were they right.
[gestures wildly] so uh we're here now??
essentially, a time travelling hermione hopes to end a certain gaunt bloodline but instead ends up in the 1950s where a certain young dark lord has a few horcruxes already in play... and suddenly a change in tactics is in order.
i tried to bring the unhinged "girlboss, gaslight, gatekeep" vs "manipulate, manwh!re, mansplain" that is their fanon dynamic tbh. and well, actively trying to destroy the other but also -
i was heavily inspired by "blood and gold" by ObsidianPen & "altered state" by Ginnyruin (see below links & synopsis)! i very much recommend them both (especially if you loved the "enemies/and a secret third thing vibe" of darklina). the plot twists! the villains! best witch of her age hermione!
fancasting: i want you to know i used almost every single hermione fancast i could think of but ultimately landed on lily james due to historical footage. it was painful. obviously tom huges for tom riddle because, well, look at him. no further comment.

I need to calm myself, I mean your edits are always excellent but I think I was just obsessed with their dynamic (at least in fanon) for so long so I'm bit emotional :DDD And you nailed it so well. I wouldn't think about Lily James as fancast for Hermione, but it works and I can't honestly think about someone else who has enough scenes needed for these time travel fics. I usually imagine her as Darya Balabanova when she played Alina in Karamora when I read something.

Have you tried Strange Attractors by chance? That was my first. Unfortunately it doesn't get updated as much but I remember it being so incredible, even though I felt that both Tom and Hermione were way too smart for me in that one :DDD And it's such a brick to get through.
