    Cervical dystonia can get better
Especially when you address the whole person.
In this example, this woman had cervical dystonia for about a year before she was referred to us.
She had a persistent tilt and rotation and it impacted every aspect of her life
    🚘She could not drive
🎉She did not do any social activities
🍳She could not cook or take care of the home
    😩She had daily pain
For her the combination of great care with a movement disorder neurologist and botox injections alongside a team led to success.
She started with physical therapy (initially 2x-week, now once per month to every other month)
She added on yoga (which she now does 4 days per week)
She added on working with a psychologist for a 6 month period
    And she improved.
Not overnight. But slowly got better and better over a 4 year period. And she continues to get better.
    No more pain.
Fully resumed all activities: driving, social activities, all of her work around the home.
In this video we highlight some of the sensory training aspects that were an important part of her training including:
🧠 using vibration on a dystonic muscle
🧠 using head laser visual feedback
🧠 using postural righting responses for automatic tilt with visual focus of rotation
Now we just meet to help maintain her gains and fine tune some of the postures and positions that have changed with the dystonia.
