New sub. Many wonderful memories.Thank you for posting.Worked at the studio with Ward Kimball,Ollie Johnston,Frank Thomas. Chet Peterson and David Rose all fellow Live Steamers.Met Michael Broggie. What a book, Walt Disney's Trains!
Thank you for subscribing and enjoying my videos the Walt Disney Barn. Sounds like you are a legend in your own right working with all those other Disney legends.
@@DanielDGordon Well sort of. I produced the Whistle Stop TV series. Trains are a magnet that brings us all together. After 60 years in the entertainment industry, your tracks/paths cross. Chet Peterson, founder of Railroad Supply, in Burbank was my mentor. He personally knew Walt from the Live Steamers and was present the night Walt unveiled his plans for Disneyland at his Holmby Hills house.Chet and Ronald Reagan were roomies in college in Iowa and when the "Gipper" came to Hollywood they even had a double ring ceremony when Reagan married Jane Wyman and Chet married Mrs. Peterson.Chet introduced me to David Rose who did the music for Bonanza and ALL the Michael Landon TV series Little House, Highway to Heaven. Mr. Rose had a live steam train also around his house in Encino, if my mind is still working.Mrs. Rose had a collection of doll house miniatures. the perfect couple to interview for my show. Unfortunately Mr. Rose passed on before we could tape.As we old show folk say, break a leg on your channel.
Very nice - I want to go see this historical structure in person. I still love everything Disney. It was a sad day when Walt passed away. Thank you so much for your post. Cheers.
Very nice video, however Ward Kimball was not the first person in the United States to own a steam locomotive. Lehigh Valley Railroad #1 “Dorthy”, an inspection engine, was sold to a private individual in 1934. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years later, and his wife gave it to a WWII scrap drive
I Want to go there. I've been to the barn in Marceline Missouri. Find a place and put a message for Walt Disney on it.The station is now the Walt Disney Hometown Museum.
Yes, they are model trains. A very expensive model train. Steam locomotives will be more pricey than lawn mower or electric powered locomotives. The hobby is called "Live Steam".

The honking at the begining was rather rude. Two short honks would have seviced
