Some channels on TH-cam are Goldmines, some are diamonds, but this is a unicorn den. Best Channel, thank you for the content!!!

It would be so much better if they didn't insist on adding the annoying timer.

Captain Howard "Swede" Jensen, the first leader of the Acrojets, was one of my uncles. He flew a P-47 in WWII. He created the "Bomb Burst." An article in Air Classics, March 2005, Vol 41, Number 3, discusses it. He ended up teaching at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He retired as a colonel.

My father, while stationed at Edwards AFB during the mid 1960s, was an aerial photographer. That means he'd fly in the back seat of aircraft such as T-33, F-4, F-104, etc. He really hated the T-33 (P-80) because one half of him would be sweating and the the other half would be frozen.
FYI, he also despised the F-4 Beastie it was a tight fit for him and his camera but the F-104 was a great fit for him and his camera. Go figure.

The narration of the aerobatics portion of the video sounds to me like it was done by Bob Hoover.

I mean, he's a Major and all, but asking a Captain, "Where you from, boy?" just seems wrong. The Major is probably 11 minutes older than the Captain.

Wonder what the significance of the announcer saying that the one pilot is 33 years old?

Most fighter pilots that flew these were under 24 years old. 33 they call Gramps.

Interesting… the uniforms and chevron’s are still of Army color and design. The Air Force became a branch of its own in Sept 1947. Certainly a lackadaisical attitude of all but then again they just came out of a horrific war and saved the world and were about to embark in another one soon in Korea. See the movie “Thunder Birds: Soldiers of the Air” with Gene Tierney.

Hats/caps should never be worn on the flight line, especially during an engine start. A big no no in any professional air force.
