She believes that Shiyi is destined to fail because she's only a concubine's daughter. Shiyi has more wisdom in her little pinky than the great Madam/Lianfang have combined. Lianfang really believes that everything that rightfully belongs to Shiyi is hers. The great Madam and her maids twisted her mind so much that she can't distinguish reality from fiction.
AWKWARD...the most painful meal ever....lol Lingyi wanted Shiyi to stay so she wouldn't get the wrong idea. It was a good plan but it made things so uncomfortable for everyone... especially Shiyi.

Yeah.the meal though a good plan made it quite awkward for all the three...he had to make sure give attention to both😂..but it ended so soon...
@@tulsi3549 well you have to give him credit he tried....lol He didn't want to be there in the first place but he agreed because he didn't want to hurt Qin's feelings....She put his in an awkward situation when she asked him to stay for dinner in front of Shiyi especially since he only went to check on her because he knew Shiyi was there...he didn't want her to get the wrong idea so he made her stay. He wasn't worried about giving Qin a little attention....it never dawned on him until Shiyi told her to sit/eat with them. I was glad it didn't drag out because they were all uncomfortable...lol
@@shontelagrone8713 yeah..true..the thing is also that he isn't used to spending time with others..usually it has been Shiyi only ...hence it became awkward with all of them there together...how did he know his wife was there?but wouldn't it look impolite if he didn't go to see her Bec she was there with Shiyi as well in the morning..
Why is the mother in charge of the family?!! The oldest male is head of the family and makes all the decisions. He has the final say.
