I don't know how others feel but for me this match and the whole event captures the true essence of golf. All the practice and dedication of family and support teams for a chance to achieve golfing immortality. The course, the spirit of the players and supporters, everything about this event was beautiful and I could watch it all day - and indeed women's professional golf too. Let the multi-millionaire men continue to wallow in their misery for having to play golf (or should I say, drive, pitch and putt) for a living. I will take this form of golf any day. Thank you to the USGA, to Chambers Bay (members, staff and volunteers), to the Golf Channel, to all the players, and especially to Monet Chun and Saki Baba.

Holy crap! Saki was locked in! Anyone know what she would have shot/how many under she was by the end? It looked like she birdied almost every hole they televised.
I might be a little off but I think she shot 12 birdies and I reckon she was about 10-under par, maybe even 11-under, for 27 holes. After she lost holes 2 and 3 in the afternoon session she won the next 6 holes to close out and I think 5 of those holes were birdies. I was just imagining standing on the first tee on Monday morning looking out over all those bunkers and elevation changes and being told what a 17-year old girl had just played it in. Holy crap would have been my reaction too!

Great win, but the so called USGA boss not remembering her name is poor form for someone that is payed a fortune for doing very little!!!
It was an embarrassment alright, especially after the announcers had discussed just a little bit earlier that she has one of the greatest and most memorable names in sport, like Pikabo Street and of course Tiger Woods. It was a bit like Shakespeare saying, "To be or not to...ah, how does that thing go again?"

なんとそこに現れたのが若干１７歳の日本人高校生、しかも美人。いやぁ、ゴルフ界にとって救世主になったSAKIちゃん、これからは世界で頑張ってね。
私もその思いはありました😮本当スカッとしましたね、日本での凱旋試合は残念ながら予選落ちでしたが次の試合は日本女子オープンゴルフ選手権でメジャーになりますので頑張って貰いましょう😍応援📣します。

Let’s hope not. Her career did not live up to the hype.
I don't think that I'll be going out on a limb by saying that Saki will have more top 10 finishes on the lpga tour before she turns 25 than Wie had in her entire career. And that's also taking into account that the field of talent is so much more deeper, and quality of play on tour is much improved as compared to 5-15 yrs ago.
Okay, scratch my previous comment. I just looked it up, and Wie had 59 top 10 finishes, which is quite a bit more than I had thought. But I still stand by my main sentiments which is that Saki will be a future star in the game.
