I just finished Lolly Willowes after hearing you talk about it, and I loved it! I think it was the funniest classic I’ve ever read. I’m not sure if you’ve read it yet, but my favourite this year was The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty - I think you would really enjoy it, a great quest story with a strong female main character!
I also loved Hedgewitch! I added Best Hex Ever to my TBR. Cozy fantasy has been hit or miss for me so far, but I'll definitely be giving this one a try❤
I just found your channel and will be going back to watch older videos🥰 it’s so nice to see someone recommend books I’ve never heard of but sound right up my alley❤
Love the mug! I read The Once and Future Sex, and The Patriarchs because you recommended them, and they were some of my favourites last year, so thank you! Some are my other favourites of 2024 were Gwen and Art Are Not in Love, Black Butterflies, Small Joys, and Cat Bohannon's Eve. Happy New Year!
Happy new year! 🎉 I picked up Whisky Business after watching your cozy winter reads video, and it was one of my favorite books of the year. Thank you so much for the recommendation! 😊 Two of my other favorites this year were The Pairing by Casey McQuiston and In Memoriam by Alice Winn.
Two of my favourites this year have been by Jenni Fagan. "Hex" (a contemporary witch travels to have a conversation with a witch the night before she was executed) and "Luckenbooth" (the tale of an Edinburgh tenement building after a curse was placed upon it) I think you'd enjoy both! Plus she is an Edinburgh writer using the city as its setting. I love her work.
Some really great books here. I definitely recommend reading the rest of the Hedgewitch series, we’ve been reading them to our kiddos and the grownups have been fighting over who gets to read them as they’re such great books. 2024 had lots of ‘meh’ books for me but in between that I found some new favourite authors like Angela Thirkell, Susanna Kearsley and Rosamund Pilcher.
I think you'd like the teller of small fortunes by Julie leong - sounds similar to best hex ever, cosy fantasy vibes! Not a romance but full of heart-warming friendships and magic!!
Here are a couple of nonfiction books that have caught my interest recently. One came out in December 2024 and the other releases in August 2025. I haven't read either yet, but plan to. "The Mysterious Case of the Victorian Female Detective" by Sara Lodge "Women of the Fairy Tale Resistance: The Forgotten Founding Mothers of the Fairy Tale and the Stories That They Spun" by Jane Harrington
Rewitched might line up with Best Hex Ever - maybe more cosy fantasy with some slow romance, very enjoyable! Payback’s a Witch is also good, with a bi protagonist and love interest 🎉

Ooooh "Asa: The Girl Who Turned Into a Pair of Chopsticks" sounds so good! Definitely on my TBR list moving forward!
I appreciate that you list out the books so I can just listen and not have to keep track. Thank you!

Definitely picked up Best Hex ever because of you! And loved it!
@@brittanysvoboda2918 aaaaah yes I’m so glad I could spread the joy!!!!
I always love your nonfiction recommendations! I love a good book that tackles a hyper-specific social-historical/scientific niche
Me too! I think that's why I love the inkling series so much but also more chunky books on niche topics please aha.

I just put a hold on Lolly Willowes from my library!
Aaaah yay I really hope you enjoy it!
I read Women’s Lore on your recommendation and it was also one of my favourite books of the year!
This makes me so happy! I can't wait for whatever Clegg writes next.
I did put Lolly Willows on my buy list, it sounds great!
I'm so pleased I hope you like it as much as I did.

If you like the chopsticks story...try the film Eraserhead.
Have you read Hagitude and do you have any thoughts? I just started and really enjoy it and you might too ❤
I haven't! But I have just looked it up and immediately added it to my TBR - it sounds really good.
My top 5 of 2024-
Project Hail Mary, chip war, power of geography, Kindred and my brilliant friend.
@@Feyenoord101 I LOVE Kindred so much!!!!!
