This sounds a bit callous to say, but it always seems to me that artists make the best music when they're in pain. The lyricism is always more honest and revealing, the production on the songs always more interesting, the general atmosphere more bold and captivating. Starboy was decent but watered-down compared to the dark, ethereal sound from Trilogy/Beauty Behind the Madness, and I'm so glad Abel has revived that style, even if it's only for 6 tracks. Such a pleasant surprise to hear this project.

This sounds a bit callous to say, but it always seems to me that artists make the best music when they're in pain. The lyricism is always more honest and revealing, the production on the songs always more interesting, the general atmosphere more bold and captivating. Starboy was decent but watered-down compared to the dark, ethereal sound from Trilogy/Beauty Behind the Madness, and I'm so glad Abel has revived that style, even if it's only for 6 tracks. Such a pleasant surprise to hear this project.
