Back when I worked with him I was the one doing all his emails and paperwork because hated it. He would proofread at best to make sure it’s good but that’s it. Some guys are naturally inclined for the harder outdoors style.

    I use to fly 1000km away from home to North Western Canada. On the border of the arctic. Would stay in "camp" wich was basically a prison on site. Like I mean legit prison, fenced in with barb wire and a tiny room with a toilet where you slept, they would bring drug dogs in and tare your room apart. I would work up there for 30 days 14 hrs a day every day for a month straight. Fly home for 4-5 days then go back on night shift. Wouldn't see sunlight for a month. Don't take us blue collar boyslike me for granted, we do what is necessary to keep the country. rolling. Especially the guys that did what I did on thw pipe lines, oil rigs, and Hydro dams. If anyone else is in the same position-- I'm wrestling with leaving my plumbing job(well paid, great benefits, etc) for either a straight desk job or military. Anyone else feel just blatantly drained after work every day, and just feel like the work you're doing is killing your body and the money you're making just is not worth it? A desk job just seems so great to just do data entry or some menial bullshit and then have actual energy after work/on weekends/not being on call 7 days a month to go live my life.
    At least if i blow my knees up in the 82nd or on an option 40 contract I'd feel like it went towards something with some memories attached, not just fuckin fixing some bullshit Glacier Bay popup some customer cheaped out on and wanted me to install.

    • @jasonm444
      @jasonm444 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the type of person you are and each kind of job has draw backs. For those office jobs, expect mind numbingly boring work, at least at entry level positions. Those entry level positions can be pretty thankless too.
      Also, a lot of white collar work can seem pointless. I audit employer benefit plans and I go home feeling like I did nothing productive for society. I think as a blue collar worker, you can see the results of your work and you can be proud of that going home.
      Those are just a few things to keep in mind. Keep asking questions to see if you’d like it. God bless you :)

      brother let me tell you something.... military is way less pay. Sense of purpose is high depending on what you do. If you want to do a combat job don't go to the military man your body will be even more destroyed trust me. If you want to try something different something with a sense of purpose or just to spice up the life brother instead of doing military go for police and move onto swat or a gang unit etc... lots of opportunities but I will say if you're looking for a desk job youll be bored out of your mind. If you enjoy being out and working with your hands work will just be work and not your life anymore. something to think about, idk you or your situation brother but if this is the stuff you're into i'd look into it.

      @@IllegallyWealthy Valid points, man. It's a lot to think about. Having no college time, all the domestic jobs are tough. Most agencies want at least a two year.
      I just switched plumbing companies for a better schedule and am going to try to get some schooling in. At minimum i could go police, otherwise i could go attempt officer route in the military. Trying to let life take me where it's gotta go.

    As someone who is burnt out on call center customer service, you are so stressed but have no outlet for it. Just sit there and take calls, worry about your stats and hate your life lol

    Yes, actually most men just aren't made for office jobs, we need movement.
    Me, myself currently work in office and I am pretty exausted with it, while my female colegues love it. Now searching for some outside job ...

    Some 2 leggers like being factory farm caged animals. Others prefer being free range organic without all the shots and able to pee / mark their territory where they will. Put the latter in a cage and its going to get messy.
