Some companies can also be strict who you can collaborate with (e.g. Hololive preventing male and female Vtubers collaborating with each other).

But yes, some of the girls also don’t collab with guys cause they‘re afraid of what their fans would think since Idol culture can be brutal. @ponpon leeching is such a strong word that isn’t even applicable, he doesn’t go fishing for likes or taking viewership from his friends because they’re popular, I won’t deny that having Corporate Vtubers as friends definitely spread more light on him as a content creator, but people in Niji make videos and hangout with him because they are *“friends”.* Shoto’s personality and charisma is what has people tuning into his stuff and subscribing, we like him for his antics and banter, we like his chemistry with other people and how he genuinely enjoys spending time with his friends, we can’t just discredit him for having built a large portion of his own success by belittling him to a “Leech” who only blew up because Luxiem made him, the viewers ultimately decide who they’ll watch and who they like.

This made me remember that Shoto and Uki knows each other before Uki debuted to Niji. I don't really know much about Uki's past besides being an indie vtuber before but imagine the fanbase the past Uki built who knows if the fanbase was big or not but imagine how he has to throw everything away to become the lovely bb we have right now but I'm so glad Uki became Uki and is now receiving the popularity he deserves. It really just depends on what path they took and I'm so happy Shoto decided not to proceed because I couldn't imagine him as someone else. Shoto is Shoto. I didn't think I would feel this when I clicked into this link, but I was really made a little emotional with Shoto saying that he can't think of all the differences that joining a company could have made. Successful individual vtubers like him make a really small percentage, and I respect him for making Shoto the Shoto we love today. Of course there would be so many more regulations if he joined a company, but this decision is not easily made, there are so many risks that needs to be taken when you're an individual, and that's a reason I love him and, personally, a very important part of what attracts me to him other than the other vtubers. Shoto is such an exceptional case, I honestly don't know any other indie vtubers who have managed to achieve his level of success. But watching him and listening to him you can definitely see why he's so successful. He's got such a charming personality and that voice that just attracts you instantly, plus if I'm being honest his model is the most expressive I've seen of all en vtubers out there. Nobody else's that I've seen has been able to move so fluidly and be so expressive. I realized this when I watched his overcooked collab with Vox. I also just learned recently just how long shoto's been on the grind... I'm a Sykkuno fan and I found out recently they've both been friends since back in like 2015 or so.
Just discovered him like 2 weeks ago and he really pulled me in. I'm not that much into games but I listen to his streams & vod now before I go to bed. His voice is very calming & attractive to listen to. I'm new but watching this and reading the comments, I can't imagine him leaving Shoto as Shoto. He is perfect as he is now and I love him for that. I actually discovered other vtubers as I watched clips of him. Now I'm in the rabbit hole but Shoto will always be my number 1. I'm so happy to have found shoto, before I didn't understand why some vtubers had that nickname of NIJISANJI EN and he didn't (because I speak Spanish and sometimes I don't understand English), and I felt that they left him aside for that. Now I understand and I couldn't be happier with his decision. I read in the comments someone saying something like shoto was a "leech" for messing with them or something. And it seems to me that it is not like that, well, maybe they gave him visualization, yes. But why would people bother to watch a vtuber that doesn't interest them? If viewers come and stay, it's because they really like who he is. that is to say, I am from the Hispanic community, I would never watch a stream of a language that I barely understand, and I was much less interested in vtubers, nor those of the Spanish community. However, tiktok recommended his videos to me, and I was totally crushed, so I ran to find him on twitch and twitter, and started following him. I mean, people follow him because he's someone really charismatic, funny, happy, we like his streams seeing him being a cute bottom puppy, being sweet, hearing him scream when he plays a horror game, his cute voice when he sings, etc. Also, personally, I met shoto and it was THANKS TO HIM that I met vox, mysta, ike, etc.

Shoto was the first real vtuber I ever started really watching, aside from Kanae here and there, and he helped me discover a lot more great vtubers as well so I have a bit of a soft spot for him. I’m glad he’s doing good on his own and that he decided to stay as Shoto. I think he really made the right decision.
He's an independent vtuber, which is great because he can do whatever he wants. I'm glad I discovered him a few weeks ago while watching Valorant with Sykkuno. At first, it was nothing special because Sykkuno had other vtuber friends, and I wasn't interested in them at all, but Shoto is just diff. and adorable, plus watching his YT-short videos is funny lol. Then later, I decided to check his vods and damn, I love watching this man. I binged watch his valorant collab vods the most and i like seeing him play with shu because they are good players with chamber and sage main👌. plus he play horror games ✨️

I can't imagine Shoto being a part of NIJI, I think he'd be way different from how he is now. Not too long ago I discovered him and his community. Seeing how amazing his model is, how charming and soft his voice sounds, and overall just him doing his own thing, makes me happy that he chose not to join. He's become my first VTuber that I've ever watched, while also being a source of comfort for me. I look forward to watching his streams everyday.. I hope that his community will continue to grow, and stay the way it is

This is the exact same issue I'm having with fulgur from niji en. I know him from his previous vtuber persona, and it's just, almost impossible for me to accept this new form he has, after all I was following his previous persona for more than 3 years; so it's very difficult to mmm to match this new form he has lol That said, I'm happy for him that he got accepted into niji en as it's a new direction in his career as a vtuber, and will help him a lot.

i found shoto when i was unknowingly rting vtuber art like i follow a lot of art accs on twt so i do get suggested posts from other artists and some of them happen to be of vtubers (which i wasnt aware of at the time) and suddenly i was in vtuber twt and kept seeing shoto's unhinged asf tweets. this wasnt my first exposure to vtuber but ive only known japanese ones prior to shoto and luxiem so i got curious and i remember the first stream i watched being shoto and mysta fabled bottom collab on shoto's channel and shoto immediately stole my heart like honestly his voice?????? soothing. comforting. handsome. heartpounding. and ever since i always tune into his streams when i answer my modules for class. idk im just happy i got to know shoto as he is and that this is the path hes chosen bc i was able to meet him as shoto bc of his decision.

I am sure in current time Vtubing is equivalent to playing a character. But if it were me I think I would have started to treat it as my own avatar...like an extension of yourself. i can't imagine for myself throwing that away. Yeah, and also if you have a technical issue, they'll try to teach you how to fix it or fix it for you. Although joining a company means that you have to follow their regulations, but on the other hand, you can rely on them to help you out whenever you need one.

I'm so happy to have found shoto, before I didn't understand why some vtubers had that nickname of NIJISANJI EN and he didn't (because I speak Spanish and sometimes I don't understand English), and I felt that they left him aside for that. Now I understand and I couldn't be happier with his decision.
I read in the comments someone saying something like shoto was a "leech" for messing with them or something. And it seems to me that it is not like that, well, maybe they gave him visualization, yes.
But why would people bother to watch a vtuber that doesn't interest them? If viewers come and stay, it's because they really like who he is.
that is to say, I am from the Hispanic community, I would never watch a stream of a language that I barely understand, and I was much less interested in vtubers, nor those of the Spanish community.
However, tiktok recommended his videos to me, and I was totally crushed, so I ran to find him on twitch and twitter, and started following him.
I mean, people follow him because he's someone really charismatic, funny, happy, we like his streams seeing him being a cute bottom puppy, being sweet, hearing him scream when he plays a horror game, his cute voice when he sings, etc.
Also, personally, I met shoto and it was THANKS TO HIM that I met vox, mysta, ike, etc.
Sincerely the fact I had to read someone says he's "leeching" for interacting with nijien AKA HIS FRIENDS is why I'm glad Shoto isn't part of Nijisanji, his community is wholesome and for sure there because we love him for him and not because he's famous
Shoto was the first real vtuber I ever started really watching, aside from Kanae here and there, and he helped me discover a lot more great vtubers as well so I have a bit of a soft spot for him. I’m glad he’s doing good on his own and that he decided to stay as Shoto. I think he really made the right decision.
He's an independent vtuber, which is great because he can do whatever he wants. I'm glad I discovered him a few weeks ago while watching Valorant with Sykkuno. At first, it was nothing special because Sykkuno had other vtuber friends, and I wasn't interested in them at all, but Shoto is just diff. and adorable, plus watching his YT-short videos is funny lol. Then later, I decided to check his vods and damn, I love watching this man. I binged watch his valorant collab vods the most and i like seeing him play with shu because they are good players with chamber and sage main👌. plus he play horror games ✨️
Shoto was the first vtuber I discovered. I found company vtubers through Shoto.

I freaking love shoto. He introduced me to the wonderful world of vtuber and he is the first vtuber that I ever liked. Like before I don't really understand the concept of vtuber. But, now vtubers, specially shoto is the reason why I can put smile to my face and laugh in spite of stress, anxiety, and depre*****. Because of him I found abt Niji
I can't imagine Shoto being a part of NIJI, I think he'd be way different from how he is now. Not too long ago I discovered him and his community. Seeing how amazing his model is, how charming and soft his voice sounds, and overall just him doing his own thing, makes me happy that he chose not to join. He's become my first VTuber that I've ever watched, while also being a source of comfort for me. I look forward to watching his streams everyday.. I hope that his community will continue to grow, and stay the way it is

This is the exact same issue I'm having with fulgur from niji en. I know him from his previous vtuber persona, and it's just, almost impossible for me to accept this new form he has, after all I was following his previous persona for more than 3 years; so it's very difficult to mmm to match this new form he has lol That said, I'm happy for him that he got accepted into niji en as it's a new direction in his career as a vtuber, and will help him a lot.

There was a guy on youtube saying this is a personal decision, that their contract doesn't make them delete their previous persona; but i have no way of knowing that lol

i found shoto when i was unknowingly rting vtuber art like i follow a lot of art accs on twt so i do get suggested posts from other artists and some of them happen to be of vtubers (which i wasnt aware of at the time) and suddenly i was in vtuber twt and kept seeing shoto's unhinged asf tweets. this wasnt my first exposure to vtuber but ive only known japanese ones prior to shoto and luxiem so i got curious and i remember the first stream i watched being shoto and mysta fabled bottom collab on shoto's channel and shoto immediately stole my heart like honestly his voice?????? soothing. comforting. handsome. heartpounding. and ever since i always tune into his streams when i answer my modules for class. idk im just happy i got to know shoto as he is and that this is the path hes chosen bc i was able to meet him as shoto bc of his decision.

Yeah, and also if you have a technical issue, they'll try to teach you how to fix it or fix it for you. Although joining a company means that you have to follow their regulations, but on the other hand, you can rely on them to help you out whenever you need one.
