If you do this, the platoon never even shows up.
What a triumphant video. You became a god and saved everyone without them ever knowing. This is what I love about this series. No matter how bleak and horrific things get, you can fight back!

No. Imo ending A is the opposite of what ossa represents and is in every word, ossa posses a soul of selfish enlightment, and one associated with yellow mages that are so selfish that they use GODS for their own benefits, plus, ossa does infact know of the festival and that's why he came to the city of prehvil in the first place, It is only when he realized the contestants were stronger than he thought that he opted to be more friendly. To be perfectly clear, merging with logic is a loss of individuality, while ossa's enlightened soul is all about being your own individual and striving to be the best version of yourself in spite of what is deemed right or wrong by others.
You can get that ending by playing as Abella and killing needles before he kills tanaka. Find everyone and add them to your party without them dying to the monsters

Something I never understood is how to save Caligura, he literally only appears in interactions with some characters and normally you either kill him or let him go, what am I missing?
the key to saving Caligura is to never let those events happen. In the video playing as O'saa, i completed the run in Day 1 morning so he never had the chance to trigger events with other characters. If you're going to try to save everyone as Abella, you need to do it in Day 2 morning so August doesn't attack the Kaiser and Caligura attacks Levi in Day 2 afternoon, if I remember correctly.
The Machine God birth somehow override Rher's backroom dimension which likely also takes over some of its influence. Olivia's sister's ghost is shown to have some sort of interest in saving them since she draw a protective sigil in the train during the introduction, which some people speculate was keeping the people in the train safe from moonscorching until the last day.
I think the machine god was essentially meant to have not just the power of a god, but mental capacities far beyond that of even old gods, making it capable of outplaying virtually everyone and everything. Pretty sure at that point the machine god finds some failsafe to get Rher to not only fire himself, but also give him the reins on the whole operation.

Not really, the god of fear and hunger is the child of Le'garde who ascends to godhood, whereas the machine god is a combination of all consciousness in the universe. They're not alike in most ways.
I think if anything the machine god is the opposite of the god of fear and hunger. First it has an item in the artwork similar to the cube of the depths with a vinushka symbol implying that it has seized controll over nature and machines are supposed to be the product brought forth by the suffering created by thr god of fear and hunger.

For some reason, if you use Spice Forge to make a spell Greater (e.g. Greater Black Orb) other party members can also use that spell.
