There are no illegal immigrants in Manipur. The census data shows absolutely no abnormal growth. There is a few thousand refugees from Myanmar who will go back when the situation in Myanmar stabilises.

I do not believe the central issue is illegal immigrants. None of us in Northeast India can claim to be the original inhabitants also, because we all come from somewhere sometime or another. It was the British rulers who devided Nagas, Mizos and Kukis. That is the reason why free movement was permitted across the border. There are many many Meiteis in Mung-yua and Mandalay cities.
