- I take a day trip from New York City to Long Branch, NJ. I ride a NJ Transit train from Penn Station to Long Branch and head to the beach, which stretches for miles along the Atlantic Ocean. It’s the perfect summer spot. After hanging out at the beach, I check out some of the town’s restaurants and eat at Hummus Republic. Then I stroll the boardwalk before heading home.

About Me:
I live in NYC and I’m about food, travel and work.
Never thought I’d see a video from a year ago bout someone going to my home town I’m glad ya enjoyed it
Thank you! That was a great day!
I went here a few times, and i feel it could reach the limit on how good beaches could get. Usually the sand at other beaches are black, and mostly made of glass pebbles. But here, the sand is so fine! It’s also deep too. This beach stretches for miles. The water is really nice. I learned how to somewhat swim there. So, thanks for reviewing this beach specifically
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I was really impressed with just how amazing that beach and area was.
I'd feel awkward filming at the beach alone. People would think I'm a freak. I felt a little tense when some of the women were looking directly at the camera. But I love the carefree way you shot this. Aint nothing wrong with enjoying the summer with your audience. Great vlog. Thanks James.
Thanks! Yeah, I definitely felt a bit awkward at first, but then got used to it.
Hermoso, Gracias 👍
Thanks for watching!
Nice trip for a nice guy. Congrats
Thank you! It was indeed a great day trip!
I miss my hometown. I’ll come back someday but that day can’t come soon enough
It's a great place! I really enjoyed my visit.
Another awesome clean safe beach for a summer day trip 👍
Absolutely!
Loved it up there. Lived in Pier Village from 2012 to 2014 and made the trip to NYC and back every few weeks on the NJ transit. Convenient way to travel from the city to the beach and vice versa.
Awesome! Yeah, Long Branch is such a nice place and very accessible to NYC. I was really impressed with my visit!
I lived for years a few towns south. Nice to see the old area
Nice! It's a great place!
From long branch! They started doing these changes to the ocean about 20 years ago. I barley recognize it now! :O Glad you enjoyed your stay! There was talks of puting back ferry access to Manhattan (I'd kill for that!)
Yeah a ferry would be fantastic! At least the train ride from NYC wasn't that bad. But yeah, I really enjoyed Long Branch!
The Slo Mo stride!! Awesome.
Thanks! I try!
What a nice outing to the beach~I could almost feel the sand and water everywhere myself 🌊⛱
It was a great day for sure!
I have a theory that you become a lot like the top 5 youtubers you watch. I'm absolutely more optimistic since I follow your videos (and I also drink more coffee)
Thank you! That really makes me happy to hear! Especially the bit about the coffee!
Seems like a wonderful place to visit. Great video keep them coming.
Thank you! Yeah, it was a really nice place for a visit.
It cannot compare to the old boardwalk and games and the tunnel from the pool across the street to the beach
I've seen some pictures of what Long Branch used to be like and it definitely looks pretty neat!
@@Jamesnu The homes that had been in the area for generations were knocked down to build all those apartments.
@@Hisloyalservantslistenlove613c That's a shame.
I'm from the Jersey Shore (Neptune)! One could also say that I'm also say that I'm from NYC as well, at this point. Considering I've been here since 2007 and just turned 34 in November. I absolutely love your Park Slope video!! Looking to buy a Brownstone there by the end of this year!!
Thank you! That makes me happy to hear! Park Slope is such a great neighborhood and a beautiful place! Best of luck with the brownstone!
I live here and love it 💓 you were right in front of my building on the boardwalk 🙌
Nice! You live in a great place!
Long branch is a amazing place to go to the beach! I go there every summer!
Btw, did anyone see the boy get smacked in the face with the wave 3:44😭
OMG I GO TO THAT HOTEL EVERY SUMMER FOR The BEACH! What a coincidence! Lol 4:09
I love the ice cream shop there btw! They have many places to eat!
It's such a great place! Yeah, I completely forgot about that poor kid. Indeed, there's a lot of great places for food and beverages!
GREAT VLOG !!!
Thank you!!
Just realized im only 100 miles away from here. Definitely going to visit this summer!
Nice! It's a great place to check out!
I’m moving to Long Branch for work and yours is one of the only videos I could find about it, thank you!! I’m definitely excited to live there now!
Thanks for watching! I was very impressed with Long Branch! It really is a beautiful place! Best of luck with the move!
You explore a lot of lesser known places. Cool channel, subbed!
Thank you! I appreciate it! There's a ton of cool places that just don't get the attention they deserve.
I loved every scenery you showed on the video. I remember the beach I have been to in long island was about 13 bucks to enter O_O
Thanks! Yeah, it was such a beautiful day and nice beach. There are definitely more expensive beaches out there, but I feel like the 5 dollars I spent was worth it.
I haven't been there in over 25 years. I remember Pistol Pete's, Tsunami and the cockroach infested Fountains Motel.
I've seen old pictures of Long Branch. It seems like it's a place that's experienced a lot of change.
@@Jamesnu A lot changed after the pier caught fire. I started going there a week later, so I never got to see it.
$5 for access to a beach with no riff raff seems like a good deal!
Yes! It's also cheaper than a day pass for the beach in Long Beach, NY.
ALL BEACHES IN FLORIDA ARE FREE.
I have been there many times
Nice! It's a great place!
Jerseyyyyy
It's a great place!
I love long branch
Same here! It's a great place!
i know someone who is exactly like you and his name is also james and he is from NYC
Wtf that’s u
Haha! Nice!
I'm going here tomorrow. Do they still have those palm trees outside at like the restaurant? I am pale too and this will be my first beach day cause I didn't get to go in the summer. I'm taking the train as well.
Nice! I hope you have a great time! I'm not sure about the palm trees, but it looks like there will be good weather there tomorrow so it should still feel a bit like summer even though it's fall.
I went to that beach before
My cousin and me were digging holes to find some stuff
@@Night_eclipse Nice!
you know my mom work in the bathrooms every summer time
They were nice bathrooms! Thanks for watching!
By the way do you ever visit bars for cocktails? 🍸
I do, but not very often since they're usually pretty expensive.
I miss the haunted mansion
I saw pictures of it. It looked pretty neat!
hey Andrew, I have a question for you. Do you think that NYC and Jersey City will fusion one day? I mean these cities are both so big and so close to each other. Why are they not becoming one? Are there places where these cities already became one? And why is everybody interested in Manhattens skyline and for NJs skyline noone cares? The big questions of mankind :)
I see your point. A lot of people already call the shore of New Jersey along the Hudson River as NYC’s 6th borough. It takes just minutes to travel to Jersey City or Hoboken from Manhattan, for me it does feel a little bit already to be a part of New York just because of how close it is. I doubt the two cities will ever merge, but for me it doesn’t matter since I could easily go to either one of them. In fact, for me, it’s far quicker to go to Jersey City than Staten Island. But either way, I’m just glad that New Jersey is so accessible from NYC.
@@Jamesnu I mean much of northern NJ is already part of the New York metropolitan area, so in a way it already is part of NYC. Greater New York you could consider it.
@@greenmachine5600 Definitely! I know what you mean!
Jersey is so much safer. NYC is pretty broke...no one in NJ wants to be a NYer..trust me.
Used to be nice when I grew up not anymore
That's a shame. All I can say is that I enjoyed my visit.
@@Jamesnu good I always like going home but I know it is it’s not the same. Things change people pass away. The beach is no long for those who are from there it’s for the rich and wealthy and they look at u funny when u come around
@@paulsweet4640 I'm sorry to hear that. As someone who was just visiting, I don't get a full perspective of the place. Thank you for sharing.
@@Jamesnu thank I for visiting and making the vdieo
I have been to most Jersey shore towns and they are all declining, they are old trashy and from a bygone era.
