I think one of YG's criteria to accept a trainee is that "you should know how to write and produced a song." If I'm not mistaken , all treasure members have their own notebooks with lyrics on it.
Is not a criteria at all to accept a trainee but YG supports the members and teaches them basics for the to Express themselves but they have to want to learn, and to debut a group they need to be capable of producing themselves so that every group in the company has an identity

They are even given studios for those who produce often. Be it TMap, album, soundtrack, unreleased/unofficial songs and even music of their teaser video. I think for those people who questioning why YG take back Yoshi, Asahi, and Mashi. Yoshi and Asahi are future composer beside their rap and vocal role in the team. Mashi is lyricist, singer and choreographer, he has this similarities with Junkyu.
I hope someday they release Asahi's song, they are seriously good, this boy is a genius composer because he's making song that can fit on his member's style.
