This was my first ever keyboard! I had it when I was 10 years old and started my music writing journey using it as a MIDI controller paired with an Atari STe. Today, I write film scores professionally. When I look back, I can still see myself sitting in front of this beautiful machine as an ambitious 10-year-old dreamer!
At 10, same for me. Do you still have yours? Mine still works perfectly even though it looks as if someone used it as a football. The tunes on your channel seem nice... will subscribe.
@@RikusLategan I do still have mine... though one of the speakers doesn't work, and the other cuts out occasionally. Headphone jack still works though! Also, thanks for checking out my music! My channel here on YT is mainly for my electronic and game soundtrack music.
Dang dude, every time I buy a secondhand keyboard it turns out you were already there! I'm waiting for this one to arrive, pretty excited about it, what appealed to me the most was that it has a step sequencer and not just a MIDI recorder. It sounds pretty good. Thanks again for the review.
I found the KN-550 for under $100, does it worth it as a first keyboard with nice bold sound ? Every time i see a video with the KN series I like the sound of it a lot, sounds richer than most of keyboards on this range. But there's so few videos about them, it's hard to find any review, maybe it's too underrated or there's something bad about them that i am not aware off. I am between the KN-550 and the Yamaha ps-36 (This one i heard wonders about)
Technics keyboards sound more powerful than comparable Yamaha, Casio, Roland or Korg ones. That means the Technics keyboards cut better through a mix in eg. a band situation. The KN-501 is a scaled down version of the KN-500. I would suggest the older KN-500. That one sounds more powerful and has more features, for less money secondhand.
Do you have any tip about the KN-550 ? Just found one under $100 cad, and I really like how it sounds, but there's so FEW videos about it that I am not so sure about its quality...
Too long ago for me to remember mate, but if you Google the model followed by "PDF: the manual will appear. It's pretty simple as I recall, not too baffling :)

Wow sounds like you've had quite a journey! Don't forget to mention Gearfacts next time you're haveing lunch with a bunch of industry elites :)
I'd call that a pretty good endorsement all together LOL

Ive never played one of these . Sounds great .
Those aftermarket notation tattoos on the keys are great. I need to learn how to get those
Just seen the new Casiotone models launched at Summer NAMM. Built in carry handles! Perhaps they are listening to you after all!
Jeez I'd better move quick if I want the brand I have in mind to implement all the other ideas...

For that low price I think you'd be quite happy with it. Technics have great sounds :)
Цей синтезатор звучить чудово! Чи достатньо потужний в нього вихід на навушники? щоб займатись в навушниках і не заважали оточуючі звуки?
Так, це може бути гучним до незручного для вух ;)
Hi back again with another question! Seen this one, or a psr e423 or a psr 510 all around the same price of 80 euro's. Any advice?
I love the psr-e423, and that’s a great price for it. Very fun keyboard
That's possibly a mic input. Great Abba beats there.
Wonderful... Can I buy it
Yep
Thank you for your review. I was wondering if you can advise on the Grand Piano Voice on this keyboard...........................any good ? Thanks
It's better than other keyboards of its time, but I think in 2021 it'd be considered strictly average. Gad you enjoyed the review!
A dónde puedo mandarlo para un servicio,, tengo uno del mismo modelo
0:64 Is that from Golden Axe, Sega Mega drive?
Yup :)

Yep especially in the rhythm department - considerably better than competitors.
I suspect this is about 1996

@@Kumodot Technics keyboards always sound powerful. The KN-500 is better than the KN-501. The KN-550 seems to be close to the 500.
How do you record sounds and loop them? I inherited this thing and was wondering how to do loops.

I have the 701. Can't find a metronome for recording 🤔
It can be tricky to operate. You can get the manual by Googling "Technics SX-KN501 PDF" :) #gearfacts
@@gearfacts Yep. Actually starting to suss it out from the PDF. Things are sometimes less intuitive the further back in time you go 😅. Thanks!
How much would you value this keyboard
About $AU90
Nice What buy Technics SX-KN501 vs. Yamaha PSR-400 ???
Personally I think I'd choose the technics, but it's very close :) Gearfacts
@@gearfacts Thx btw The display keyboard show the numerical Tempo ???
What year did this come out?
Oooh you'd have to google that one, but I can tell you it was a looong time ago :)
What keyboard better technics kn 501 or technics kn 750 ?
I don't think I've reviewed the 750 but I can only assume it's better.

Wheir did i get the plag
I recommend getting a generic DC adapter from an electronics store or online. They are cheaper and better.
