@@-xan-7423 In hardware, there are only two channels. But most games use CPU software mixing to get at least four distinct ones. Also the original Gameboy's sound capabilities can be used (two pulse wave a la NES, one custom 4-bit waveform, and a noise generator.)

It's a 16-bit coprocessor for a 32-bit ARM CPU that puts out 8-bit waveforms.

@@quadpad_music they extracted/rip the sound data from the rom into recognizable format, like xm or midi.
