did you use some isopropyl alcohol (solvent) on Q-tip ? to make cleaning easier so less force is used on lens. if you take an old computer dvd drive apart you will see just how delicate the lens mounting are
Oh no I didn't. Ooops. The video I watched that used this technique didn't mention using solvent and now I feel silly. Great info and thank you very much.....
Hey Captain you sure are getting into it I don’t think I would use any solvents on that lens just mild soap and distilled water because we don’t know what it’s made out of nice job I can remember when the 8 track player went in that spot
8 track and AM/FM radio, LOL! Yes I'm still busy fixing all the broken things around the house. My next video is fixing the weed wacker, AGAIN. I think everything I own knows that I'm retired and wants my attention, LOL. I'm glad this simple fix worked and thank you very much......
I use this method it works great, the laser is located in the left hand side i use one of does small flashlight for one dollar in Walmart i use the flashlight to keep the rubber open and illuminate at the same time very easy it took my couple of minutes.
I blew into the openings, after removing the disks, with my air compressor at about a 3 inch distance and now both my dvd player and navigation are running trouble free. This may not last but so far they are both working.
I got the map visuals back, I'm getting ready to ride to beach in hour or too so we will see how it hold up. I know where I'm going just like to see my roads on small trips almost like entertainment lol!!
Great job, then you don't need to go to the car dealer and get yourself a new car..... BEWARE: A slipping rubber may lead to an enlarged family, be sure you're ready for that...... 😱🤢😈😂🤣👍
Great video, no map disc read error. Thanks!!!
Awesome! I'm glad it worked.....
I tried all methods mentioned and it still did not work. DO you have any other advise?
I don't. Sorry. It may be hard broken. Good luck.....
