I just completed my first pair of toe-up socks and I am in the process of 'unknitting' the elastic bind off that was not elastic at all. I've been scouring the internet for a suitable stretchy bind off that doesn't flare. I think this might be it. Thank you for the clear and simple demo. I am a subscriber!
Don't worry too much if the bind off on a sock flares. It may not look right when the sock isn't being worn, but it usually looks and feels fine when you're wearing it.

I'll try this with my German Twisted cast on 2x2 headband. I've had the hardest time finding a compatible bind off.
Can you begin this bind off with a Knit stitch as well?
