The only one that went to console Campos was Stoichkov! What a legend.
Campos returned the favour by taking part in Stoichkov's 50th birthday All Stars game in Bulgaria 22 years later.

As a mexican, that's pretty nice to hear. Jorge Campos is one of our heroes, he is still loved in Mexico , he participates as commentator in TV for football games. He is one of our best goalkeepers in history. Thanks for that comment , it made my day. Regards from Mexico.

I remember it being a terrible game spoilt by a fussy referee. Also there was a long delay while the goal on the right hand side collapsed and had to be replaced.
Yes, it really was a pretty boring match - except the penalty shoot-out of course. And the referee was one of the worst. I believe six yellow cards and two yellow-red cards in this game.

No fue tanto la presión del estadio, la realidad fue que no metieron a Hugo Sánchez y Hermosillo en vez de Zague y Bernal que no estaban haciéndo nada desde el principio, si ellos 2 hubieran jugado los tiempos extras se hubieran definido y ganado, de lo contrario el llegar a los penalties, la clave era: Aspe, después Galindo, Suárez, Hermosillo y al final jugarsela con Hugo Sánchez en el último tiro, ahí la presión sería más para Hugo por ser el mejor delantero mexicano, pero si no hubiera fallado Aspe su primer penal, la historia sería diferente.

@@v.m.m.7729 Claro que servía, la clave de ese juego era sacar a Zague y Bernal que no estaban haciendo nada y meter a Hugo Sánchez y Hermosillo en los últimos minutos, para ver si ambos hacían algo en los tiempos extras, ya una vez estando ahí, era que ellos tirarán los penalties, porque eran grandes expertos.
Mexico were hopeless at penalties. They missed most of their kicks v W Germany in 1986 as well.
The only time I recall they won a penalty shootout was against Costa Rica in the Gold Cup quarterfinal match not so long ago, but at the highest level they choke in them all the time.

Y luego patean los penales casi a las manos del portero búlgaro.
Hugo no quizo entrar a ese partido, y a zague jugador impuesto, no hizo nada durante el mundial mas que causar ese penal(no olvidemos el gol que se comio contra noruega). Bulgaria hizo un buen mundial, pero de aqui ya no hizo mas nada.
Al contrario, Hugo Sánchez quería entrar al campo, porque ahí se ve claramente que estaba calentando y cuando iba a entrar, el D.T. Mejia Barón le dijo que si entraba, iba a ser como Mediocampista y él le dijo: como me vas a meter de medio? Si lo que necesita el equipo es ofensiva, el técnico le dijo espérame y nunca lo metió porque tenía miedo de que se descompusiera el equipo.
