There's every good reasons why they call this man the "Boss". Unequaled. Unparalleled.
Bruce Springsteen these songs in it „Live in Dublin” album be published (Label/Source::„SonyBMG - CD-LP”) 2007/05. This album contain 23 song, from this in the end three song name „Bonus Track”. From this album my favorit songs „Pay Mye My Money Down” and „Jacob’s Ladder”. Always I myself fascinated by these songs. Thanh you Bruce.
The sessions band is what introduced me to Bruce Springsteen and my god I would give anything to see him do this tour again because I missed it the first time.
Same story here! Double CD and DVD were a gift from a family of friends. Grateful for that.
I just started down this rabbit hole from "Erie Canal" ( it's 3:09 AM for me right now, and man am I glad I did, this is catchy, entertaining, well done, and awesome, and I've never listened to Springsteen's music until today, I only got interested in him after my US History teacher last semester played "Erie Canal" since we were talking about it at the time

This is Absolute RUBBISH!!!!! The verse is 'we are climbing Jacob's ladder; soldiers of The CROSS!' This is outright blasphemy. John 3.3, 33-34--
I apologize for upsetting you. The genius of the original singers was that there was never a definitive version of any of the Spirituals. And those who continue to sing those songs are free to adapt the songs to the occasion. I have written about this song in my M. A. thesis and doctoral dissertation. What Springsteen did in this performance is in keeping with the tradition of appropriating the themes for the specific audience.

@@pmcclaren1 Having taught this song and written about it for decades, I must challenge the negative assessment, here. "Brothers and sisters all" is actually a very strong reading of the meaning of the song. Higher and higher. The angels are singing the song. And this band honors the ring shout of our African American ancestors.
