Why would there be pixel perfect modes and full screen stretching in a game designed for CRT era gaming? Modern bells and whistles weren't commonplace in this time.

But there were also 16:9 CRT's even though rare. Some games had a 4:3/16:9 toggle and the PS2 itself allowed for this to be selected in the boot menu.
Playing games fully stretched on these was not the best experience 🤣.
So apologies, by pixel perfect I meant something like a toggle between 4:3 and 16:9 (which was more common then) 😊
I think there were screen stretching features in some games but usually in Fighting games though... 🤔
I think it would have been nice to have more games with features like this back then too 👍😄

@QuesterMage I 100% agree. Some of my PS2 games have these features. I enjoyed your video, it's especially relevant to a younger person dipping into retro content. I'm going to try this on my CRT later, I want to see if the blur is an lcd thing or what. Cheers!
