(Context: The speaker, Mike Shinoda, gave this speech and tribute to fellow bandmate Chester Bennington after Chester committed suicide the year prior.)
I just wanted to share this concert moment to remind you guys of something. That it's okay if something bad or scary is happening in your life right now; that I understand. Some of us don't like to talk about it so it just goes unsaid until we crack or it kills us. But it doesn't have to be that way; there is ALWAYS somebody there for you. Even if you can't identify who that person is right now, they will come into your life. If you know who that person is right now, know that they are there. For YOU. And you don't have to be ashamed of whatever it is that is making you feel a certain way right now. Even if it's embarrassing or strange or complex... if it's hurtful then please, talk about it!
And don't give up. If you're feeling the way I am describing right now, I know you want to. I know what that is. But I promise... it will go away. I don't know how or when but it will. And it's WORTH it to make it to the other side of that. And those things that you hear in your head are lies. You know the ones. So keep going because it's worth it. And if it wasn't... I wouldn't tell you to keep going. Because it's hard. Really hard. And like the speaker (Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park) is saying, sometimes music can be a way for those things to go away. It really is. Sometimes music IS The friend you are looking for. (Maybe even Linkin Park, perhaps…) But don't fill yourself with it until it destroys you. Use it as a tool to keep going and looking to hope. And for Christians, we know that that hope is in Christ. But keep going. Don't be ashamed. And even if you don’t want too… please live on.

I need to hear these messages so badly right now, so thank you! 🙏I loved this speech, for music is truly a life saving thing (I speak from experience!). Another concert moment I love is John Cooper's speech before Skillet performs "The Last Night". This was the first version that I heard, and I was amazed: th-cam.com/video/9q0dXI5RTug/w-d-xo.html

@@elisaofendor I am so glad this could help in some way! Keep clinging to Christ, no matter how difficult or long it is. 💙 YES I love that speech from John! Watching his Last Night speeches are not just amazing to me; they GRAB me and show me Christ again. ✝
