Female cows can have horns. It depends on the breed of cow. For example Angus beef cows and bulls don't have horns. Cows are actually the female of the species but, the common name used to refer to cattle. The bulls are males and steers are castrated males. Cattle are also part of the bovine family which includes oxen,goats,bison,water buffaloes,and antelopes. Apox. 10,500 years ago humans first domesticated cows. Sorry if I'm rambling.
