As a guy who grew up in NKY in a German Catholic family, beer was always part of family life. My Dad had a cafe' at 1603 Holman in Covington and several members of my extended family worked at Bavarian on 12th street. A couple of uncles could easily tell the local beers apart. I have been living in Downingtown, PA since 1985. About 20 years ago Victory Brewing opened up about 3 miles from house. The make some darn good beer - beer that has taste. When I would tell folks about their place the description was that they were a brewery that dabbled in serving food. And, if your idea of a 'good beer' was Bud or Miller lite, it just may not be the place for you!
