I was travelling back to North Wales on that very day from Euston. My 1502 to HHD was Cancelled at EUS, so had to change at Crewe. I heard many people having such travel disruptions and opted to travel on the ECML instead of the WCML to Scotland. I travelled on the ECML for the first time on the 30/09/2024 and had eye opening views. Thank goodness for the Pennines and the Newcastle - Carlisle lines!
Thanks for your comment - yes! What an idiot I was coming out of St Pancras and looking at King's Cross station, yet still going to Euston because I imagined I'd get home sooner.
It's the same with all of Britain's incompetently managed train operators - no contingency planning, no flexibility built into the schedules or staff scheduling, management that just shrugs and goes "DO NOT TRAVEL!!!!!!" 🤷♂️🥺
Thanks for your comment. I clearly stated twice in my film that it wasn't Avanti's fault - the problem seems to be their lack of resiliance to deal with these things. I also mentioned that the staff on the ground were doing a good job in difficult circumstances.
That was what he said, but the way the train operator treats its "customers" is up to the diddly squat train operators. Actually that'd be a good name" "Diddly Squat Trains: we don't give a flying hoot about you 😀"
You summed up my limited experience with Avanti perfectly: "Good Staff, crap management."
Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for your comment. Cancellation due to "Traincrew issues" is also very common.
I'm looking forward to your Italian adventures Clive!
Thanks - I'm working on it now, a lot of clips to review and edit. It's going to be another couple of days. A lot of captions to type, as well!
I agree with you. Things can always go wrong, its how you are able to react that separates the TOCs. LNER is miles ahead of both Avanti and GWR.
I've been told that as Avanti are simply paid by the Government to operate trains, they have no interest whatsoever in passenger welfare.
Avanti are absolutely clueless when in London heading to Scotland go with LnEr.

Thanks for your comment, as always.
Nice video, but the vomume of your voice is pretty low
Thanks for your comment Frank - I did turn it up on the editing software but it wasn't enough obviously.
Newsflash: a broken rail has diddly squat to do with Avanti. Like most delays on WCML, it is Network Rail's responsibility, ffs!
