Power ranking is fine, but resume rank is a joke. UM played played current #1 and 13 team 4 weeks in, no one is even close to this level of competition

Husker fan here, I like how you rank by more logical reasons but I am disappointed you have the Huskers at 9 ahead of Indiana and Rutgers in particular but I am glad you don't have them at 7 like the Big 10 show does, smh. The Huskers second half performances against UNI and Colorado were signs of issues to be revealed vs Illinois. The special teams play and lack of a reliable kicker and punter need to be taken into consideration if we are talking about play on the field included in rank criteria. The Huskers fell apart on defense in the second half and were fooled by Illinois play calls often. Dylan failed in his first end of game chance to clutch but he had an amazing game before the ending debacle. Our defensive issues against the run and pass are glaring and since our 3 wins are not impressive it would be fine if we are ranked 13th and until we beat a quality Big 10 team we don't deserve to be ahead of teams that have done their job with who is in front of them.

They hung with PSU and TAMU. I think they will play Toledo (maybe NI) for the MAC

You mean with all of its games at home? The record might look the same but the results would have been FAR different. UM wasn't ever in the Texas game, has looked pedestrian (vs ISU results) in two games vs bad teams and, quite frankly, was fortunate to win Saturday. Ohio State has every bit as good of a defense and a much better offense due to versatility.
I live in the mitten but am not a slave to the idea that UM is very good. Guarantee that Saturdays game would have been a loss at the Coliseum If the powers of the B1G ever pulled the wolves out of A2 before Halloween, the momentum the program gets would be far less.
@@skiboy88243 , You may have read too much into my question. I'm literally just curious how Mark thinks the current Ohio State team would've done playing the same first four games. It's entirely possible they'd still be 4-0. It's also possible they'd be 3-1 given Texas is ranked above OSU.

I clearly stated OSU may have the same record. The optics would have been much better. Evidently, how a team wins or loses affects both rankings.
@@skiboy88243 , fair enough. You'd also have to consider whether or not OSU came in as the underdog, or not. Michigan was the underdog against Texas and USC. As the underdog, how you win isn't as important as the win itself, I think.

I don’t understand how you arrived at USC’s resume ranking. LSU, Utah State, and ichigan and they’re resume is ranked #5?

2. Opponents
3. Performance (level of dominance)
Illinois should be ranked higher than Iowa. How many ranked teams do they have to beat to get any respect? I bet you wanted to rank Nebraska higher than Illinois even though they just beat them at their house.

I think eight is a fair rating for Nebraska. Love the direction of the team. Missing a few pieces but heading in the right direction.

I would flip Oregon and Ohio State, but thats because i'm biased. While i do think Oregons about to explode, im a diehard Duck so it is what it is.
Bias or not I think you may be right. I think Oregon has an advantage now because they don’t layer a couple of close games with some backups in and casual watchers have written them off. I think they will be talked about much more after the Ohio state game that they are going to win.

I would put Illinois 6/1, Nebraska 7/10, Iowa 8/6. Illinois pretty equal with Nebraska but pulls win in overtime vs ranked team. Nebraska by your own admission should be ranked higher but losses in Overtime to Illinois. Also starters were out of the game by mid to late quarter in there three wins and it wasn’t close. Iowa I think still has to show that there offense can produce vs good teams dog fight with Minnesota till end. lost vs Iowa State in a game they were winning by double digits at half. And struggled to score vs cup cakes in first half.

I sometimes check out your podcast to see an opposing sites opinion. Usually, I think you're fair, but ranking Michigan's resume 4th is ridiculous. No one in BIG has played anything remotely close to what Michigan has played. Put away the Scarlotte and Gray shades and be realistic. I can't see how you could honestly rate Michigans resume so poorly and not expect a ton of negative feedback for it.

I just can’t agree with you when the last three years Ohio state has been in a similar situation just to lose back to back to back against Michigan. I need to see results on the field and not statical numbers on paper.
