I've known about this guy for _years_....yet never seen a single episode of the BBT....or any interview with him. I do remember him from Garden State...and like everyone I've seen those annoying phone commercials he's in(verizon? idk..). But....seeing this interview here, makes me realize he's a very likable guy. He's charming and a natural entertainer. One of those rare people who just shine in front of an audience. Jim Parsons says Colbert's comments weren't homophobic, but conservatives who think someone like Parsons shouldn't be able to marry the person he loves claim Colbert's comments were. I think Parsons is a more authoritative voice on this issue than the latter group of people.
As an actual liberal, let me just put it this way: Trying to bully religious institutions - civil unions might not be religous, but marriage is - into conforming with state morals about a ceremonial union of two people, isn't conducive to appearing liberal, as is insisting that private businesses do the same. The reason behind government-enforced reform might be liberal, but the method used fundamenally is not. Technically, this does constitute illiberal religious persecution, even with the tax breaks they receive. It would be different if it were the reformation of circumcision, for which I'd be all for state intervention, for obvious moral reasons. Too many 'liberals' make a false equalence, though, of marriage and M/FGM. I bet many leftists would declare the attempt to enforce the reformation of an Amazonian tribe's sexist marriage practices racist, imperialistic, and illiberal. But it doesn't matter, b/c most Christians in the US are 'white oppressors' from a colonial nation, so fuck being liberal to them. It's this suspicious inconsistency in many so-called liberals' principles that gets me. It stems from the 'fight illiberalism with illiberalism' mentality of the far left, which has its strangehold on all the dominant institutions in the west, unfortunately. It's when the ends are deemed justification for the means that leftists are no longer true liberals, and liberalism dies with rapturous applause from their end of the spectrum.

Alex, I think you got it. I think Jim said "effing" God, just by the tone of his voice. You can see by Colbert's glance and the audiences slight laugh. Thanks for pointing that out.
It's kind of a running gag on the show that he's not allowed to reference his old character, old network, or anything DIRECTLY without being fearful of lawsuits. I'm sure there is a sliver of truth, but it's mostly a gag.
It's nice to see someone who tries to listen to both sides. Even if you don't agree with someone it's always a good idea to try to at least understand where they're coming from.
It's kind of fascinating that Jim feels a little bit uncomfortable saying that he listens to conservative radio. It's kinda interesting that you can't be objective if your objectivity can make you seem slightly conservative.
Coming from the piece of shit that sticks up for the bigot Colbert, at this point i have more respect for trump fans than Colbert fans. At the very least i haven't heard trump use any homophobic slurs.
Seriously Trump supporters should be ashamed of themselves, they hate political correctness but if it's anti-Trump comedy then PC must be OK in that sense! #TrumpTeamLogic oh yeah I've heard tons of stuff Trump said about gays don't be deaf from Trumps speech and stop being a Loyalist u somehow became less of a Patriot that way, just like the British Empire in the late 1700s!
I adore celebrities who place themselves in a central political position. People who are willing to hear both sides of an issue and make an informed stance. If only everyone would do that.
It's shocking if people don't beleive that just listening to news and views from all types of views is new and amazing. Good job for Jim though I'm glad he said it so people think it's normal. I find with the Internet it's easy to stay in your own echo chamber. In the olden days of TV you watched everything and automatically formed an opinion of your own not what you were told to think.
kudos to jim for listening to both sides and thinking for himself. too often people who believe themselves to be intellectually adept of one end of the political spectrum when they don't even understand the scope or core of the other.
I suggest EVERYONE listen to conservative radio, it is enlightening. It really helps you understand not only where the misinformation comes from, but also the anger at liberals and liberal policy. They make the rational sound batshit insane and vice versa.
As someone who has mostly liberal views and coming from a conservative family, I couldn't agree more. While it boggles my mind how anything that they're saying can be taken as fact because it's do ridiculous, it makes sense why there's such a divide. It sucks, but it makes sense.
@@sullyczar A study by Philip Tetlock of UC Berkeley found producers like contentious people who are outspoken and argue ideologically. An appreciation of complexity will get you few invites to punditry.
I suggest EVERYONE makes up their own minds and gathers information from any and all sources and then dissemble the lies from truth. One source of information is one opinion, one viewpoint, libral, conservative or otherwise, doesn't matter. Hey contgrad, I suggest you stop suggesting things.
I have to say I have tried watching some conservative media, and my head just explodes. I can't take it!! 10 years ago, I could have listened to right wingers and republicans and not lose my shit but today? There is just too large a chasm, and it just seems all the right does nowadays is take perverse glee in taking down the left and minorities and women through insults etc. Forget about agreeing to disagree, they just seem to be in a different reality. 10-15 years ago there were more conservatives willing to acknowledge global warming but disagreed with the left, on how to deal with it. Today, it is just denial insult denial.
I know I watched Fox recently this Morning on another channel and the Kept interrupting the Black Dude on their panel. Poor Soul couldn't even get a word in edgewise because everytime he tried to say his point they would bash him. And in the Comments it was far worse. Not saying I seen Bad TH-cam Comments elsewhere, but I had to literally compose myself before I went to work where my silly boss was saying I need more Tap Water. O3O I mean I love her but I got a reason in my house not to drink the tap water. And it's due to my house being on a shared water well for a bunch of Trailers were it has Sulfer and I am allergic. But I do drink Tap in Town. But yeah it got crazy and yup both sides one day. And I am still wondering how my Sanity hasn't officially broken yet.
That's how to do it, absorb the information, get to the root of the issues, find out the truth, whether it is a conservative or liberal viewpoint and then decide from there. If you just go by 'well this is conservative/liberal so that's what I believe' then you aren't thinking for yourself and that's a huge problem in this country, especially with the media dictating what most people believe. THINK FOR YOURSELF!

Love Jim Persons such a funny guy and a great actor in the big bang theory.
I learnt about Schrodinger's Cat from Sheldon.
he's so sweet!
It is wonderful CBS was able to book Parson to support Colbert
Funny, I've learned alot about science from the show. Finally a sitcom that's not all BS. It has an an outstanding intellectual component.
Aging is unappealing. Too much pain in the body.
"Your Favorite Celebrity is Trying to Cram Two Types of Garbage Into Their Brain"
WHAT did they bleep out at 1:20??
My weather name would be Cloud Strife.
It's y'all not ya'll wtf
hah. Goodnight Yeah will!
It's kind of fascinating that Jim feels a little bit uncomfortable saying that he listens to conservative radio. It's kinda interesting that you can't be objective if your objectivity can make you seem slightly conservative.
How can you NOT love the man?
"No I had mine removed cecarian." he was dead ass lmfao
Loooooove Jim Parsons!
Judy Collins' '"Both Sides Now"! Thank you, Jim, for reminding me!
That was the shortest 9 minutes of my life.
mineMissHellsing That's what she said (sorry, couldn't resist)
I love the BBT, did you see when he walked out. He had feet like Side Show Bob.
WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE PUPPIES? STEPHEN JUST BLUE BALLED ME SO HARD
Brett L You need puppies to get your rocks off...? Weirdo...
It's the next video. It should be right on your right, for suggested videos. If it's not there, just type in "Jim Parsons rescue"
Ottis! My man.
What happened with the monologue?
Trumpsters got pissy because their pres was insulted by calling him "putin's cockholster" and they tried to get Colbert fired over "homophobia".
That's so stupid, Stephen is like the gayest talk show host there is. And I mean that with all the love.
today's monologue or yesterday's?
Yesterdays, there was a good roast by Stephen about Trump.
it was Monday monologue, not yesterday's
he is just so awesome!!
KEEP COLBERT!!! DUMP TRUMP!!!
ha ha
butt hurt Liberal losers
keep crying bitch
Coming from the piece of shit that sticks up for the bigot Colbert, at this point i have more respect for trump fans than Colbert fans. At the very least i haven't heard trump use any homophobic slurs.
corey lahee I got news for ya, son, and I tell you this with all the respect I can possible muster: You are a stupid, stupid human being.
@Inquisitive Cameron
Triggered liberal
Need your safe space snowflake Cameron?
lol
go fuck yourself losers
Trump shoved up in all your liberal asses
Seriously Trump supporters should be ashamed of themselves, they hate political correctness but if it's anti-Trump comedy then PC must be OK in that sense! #TrumpTeamLogic oh yeah I've heard tons of stuff Trump said about gays don't be deaf from Trumps speech and stop being a Loyalist u somehow became less of a Patriot that way, just like the British Empire in the late 1700s!
I adore celebrities who place themselves in a central political position. People who are willing to hear both sides of an issue and make an informed stance. If only everyone would do that.
he's making me feel bisexual...
so it is just him. just 1 person all along, blow my fricking mind. i love you sheldon
Its the guy from big bank teary
It's big bang theory
It's shocking if people don't beleive that just listening to news and views from all types of views is new and amazing. Good job for Jim though I'm glad he said it so people think it's normal. I find with the Internet it's easy to stay in your own echo chamber. In the olden days of TV you watched everything and automatically formed an opinion of your own not what you were told to think.
Jim Parsons rules
I think I saw Johnny Mountain supporting Thin Lizzy in 1977.
Secular Talk with Kyle Kulinski.
kudos to jim for listening to both sides and thinking for himself. too often people who believe themselves to be intellectually adept of one end of the political spectrum when they don't even understand the scope or core of the other.
It sucks, but it makes sense.
oontgrad I had a guy tell me that Obama paid Dylan roof $39m to shoot up the church.... Today.....he told me that today.
Courtney Reece it’s almost like there’s shit on both sides and that cherry picking doesn’t help the argument
He wanted to be a meteorologist? Is that someone who studies meteors? ;-)
There's something different about his haircut and I don't like it
Jim Parsons is my power animal.
BAZINGA LOL HAHAHAHA BOINGGOOOOO WOWWWWW PHYSICS HELL YEAH BOOOO YEAHHHHH FOURIER TRANSFORM THAT SHIT BAZINGA!!!!
And then a meteorologist came on my screen!
I agree with this amazing shape-shifting dog who makes amazing pancakes!!!!
This is why my friends that I am Independent! Even though I love Hillary and Obama and hate Trump, I don't trust either party!
Right on
There was a questionnaire in Canada before one of our elections that showed you how much of each platform you agreed with. I was 28% conservative
I only just found out now Jim Parson was gay and only a couple of hours ago Katey Perry was bio.
what a day
Katy Perry is "bio"? Who's chem, physics and geology then? ;)
Chris Moran bio? Does it mean she use only freshly harvested cucumbers?
^ What a prude.
Warrior Son that's sick and twisted
Chris Moran then why does she have songs making fun of gays she just wants publicity
The only dudes he didn't see coming were wearing camouflage condoms
