YES! i'm glad they saved this bit... Rhinestone Eyes is a great song, but i was sad that it seemed like most of the Electric Shock demo was trashed. i'd have loved to hear the demented carnival music fleshed out, but hey. this is still awesome times!
The reason things had gotten shaky was mostly due to conflicts with EMI. Due to the poor chart performances of "Stylo"(because it was leaked) EMI didn't want to continue funding the project.
I can relate, im a long time fan of gorillaz and i introduced my friend to gorillaz and hes only been stuck to clint eastwood and feel good inc, and so far this is one of my favorites

Can't you tell me what I see, then I'll become what to be. Lags on the shore while we retrieve. The millions of scenes.
I wish there were more orchestral pieces on the album. Apparently they recorded hours of the stuff but only White Flag, Orchestral Intro and this song were released. I'm pissed that I bought the deluxe edition of the CD and I don't have this song.
They actually don't "Split up" they only take a rest... There's gonna be other album yes... because Damon said that he have about 80 demos of song for Gorillaz
Gwar and Athediscotv are partially right. This plays in the background of Murdoc's Ident, and it was also the beginning of Electric shock back when the demo songs were released. Guess they decided to cut that song and apply its bits and pieces into different projects.
Thank you for uploading it. Pirate's Progress is easier to find than this. it seems like the two bonus tracks are just extended versions of other songs' specific sections. I'm pretty sure this song is in one of the idents. it's good, but not "me buying it from itunes" worthy.
@Schmittsterful It's definitely NOT Empire ants. The melody and the way he sings are really different. There aren't even violins on Empire Ants, while there are on Russel's ident.
If you check out the dvd that came with the experience edition of the new album, electric shock is still there...its just going to be a b-side i suppose. The dvd shows a handful of songs that aren't on the album which is exciting!
Okay. Crashing down was the demo for Empire Ants. Then they wanted to make it separate because it was a tad different. But it was never released because the guy, a famous Arabian Singer, cancelled on Damon and they never got to sing together on the song. That was the plan. So only the chorus is recorded. Damon talked about trying to finish it in an interview when discussing "the fall." So it's not released because it's not done.
For some reason idk why,i think this track would be great on Halloweeners if this would be made. Before plastic beach some demos would be on carrousell, movie Made with animated shorts, jamie on the art, And Damon in the music And one of this it was Halloweeners,it was a project that was abandoned, and that evolves to plastic beach idk if I'm right, but that's the thing
A couple of the lines are similar, like the "world crashing down falling through space", but it sounds like a completely different song, that just happens to have similar lyrics to a couple of lines on Empire Ants.
it may be Empire Ants, but it's not the CD version, which herculeanmusic was trying to say. It wasn't edited; it's a different version entirely that will probably be released later.
@Herculeanmusic EMPIRE ANTS IS NOT RUSSLE'S INDENT!!!!! if you have the Japanese edition or the experience edition online booklet, you can clearly see that there was a demo recorded called "Crashing Down" by Gorillaz ft. The national orchestra for Arabic music. (the book also has the names of the other music that was to be be in plastic beach)
@Schmittsterful i think they havent released that song yet, i think its not empire ants the lyrics mismatch in a few words but if it is it has to be a revamp of that song.
woah dude chill, I'm just repeating what Damon Albarn was quoted saying. Those are his actual words. Just because you and me and all the other Gorillaz fans dont want it to end doesnt mean its not going to. Grow up. i hate to see them go too I love all their music, but thats what the creator of the gorillaz was quoted saying so I doubt they'll release anything new anytime soon
@nickblattfilms yea but crashing down it's completly different to empire ants so how could it pe the demo? and this song has nothing to do with crashing down it's a fragment of the electric shock demo which is Awesome! :D and ended as the iTunes deluxe edition bonus tracks
I heard that Damon wants to Continue Gorillaz and anytime Jamie has the "dying urge to draw the characters" they'll continue
Emily Brooke and they did
Ahaha! This was 5 fucking years ago! Look what they've accomplished now. Amazing isn't it??
And thats 2 albums in 2 years 😊
well... humanz was mediocre and the now now was only decent. also the group and general lore got soft rebooted.
welp, at least we got new material...
What about now that we got Song Machine!
YES! i'm glad they saved this bit... Rhinestone Eyes is a great song, but i was sad that it seemed like most of the Electric Shock demo was trashed. i'd have loved to hear the demented carnival music fleshed out, but hey. this is still awesome times!
This seriously reminds me of both old Disney movies and Tchaikovsky's sugar fairy dance

I like how they used this in the Murdoc ident, it fits his sleezy attitude.
I don't know why, but this song gives me a chill down my spine.

N DelaPaz it's probably because of the offkey violins in the background in the beginning of the song

I didn't knew that this song exist. I like it. It's the one from the video "Murdoc's Ident", so cool.
Only just found out about the idents, were they in danger of becoming lost media? (Very cool animated shorts though I hope they make more)
Imagine talking to a newer gorillaz fan and they're like "what's your favorite gorillaz song? Mine's feel good inc" and then you just play this lmao
I can relate, im a long time fan of gorillaz and i introduced my friend to gorillaz and hes only been stuck to clint eastwood and feel good inc, and so far this is one of my favorites
I really have come a long way looking at all these songs in gorillaz people barely talk about that fascinate me.

OMG, isn't this the song from Murdoc's Plastic Beach Ident?
