Despite all the animation glitches, this was one of my favorite episodes. This seems to go back to the old legend that ghosts roam the earth, and don't get rest until they accomplish the life goal they originally had before they lost their lives.
Forgot about the best line in the episode! Peter: I studied Engineering in college for 2 years before I found out it didn’t have anything to do with trains.
I remember this episode when the Ghostbusters met a train ghost and this reminds me the time in Ghostbusters 2 when Egon saw a ghost train in the underground 😁👻🚫
I can totally understand Peter's interest in trains carrying over into adulthood. Many of my interests from childhood are just as strong now as they were I was a child. I still feel bad for him when Slimer eats his toy train. I had a toy train set from Playmobil when I was young and it was one of my favorite toys. I would have been pretty mad if something happened to it. Always enjoyed the jokes in this episode, especially Ray's describing what Casey Jones is doing to Egon when they find him in Grand Central's restaurant. Plus, Peter telling Winston about putting two years of college into engineering before he discovered it did not have anything to do with trains always gets me laughing.
Easy fix would've been to have Casey take over a train while it was on rout to oblivion. Have Ray be a passenger on board a train, and Casey transforms the electric into a steam powered locomotive. Without his equipment Ray has to investigate the scene himself while the rest of the ghostbusters are on their way. Casey wanted to prevent the train wreck from happening, but he also wanted to have the train arrive to its destination on time.
In reality, many train drivers, like pilots, regret their old job after retirement because they did it with passion, I believe that if there is a place after death they would still like to drive a train, I found this episode tremendously realistic
I disagree with Casey's method of kidnapping Peter and endangering the lives of the Ghostbusters and the other train's occupants, but I guess he felt like that was the only way for him to move on. Despite the errors, I love this episode, and the fact that is has a good ending for the guys and the ghost.

He was a good guy at the end of the episode.
I'll admit when first saw this episode that Casey's intentions kept me fooled until the conclusion at the end.
I saw this episode a few months ago and I absolutely love it!
A Train Better Show Up In The Ghostbusters Afterlife Sequel At Some Point 😁
