    So the water in the hot tub makes the headlights go on highbeam 😂 The noise of a rock hammer in the back ground when you were at the general store.

      Yes it does! That rock hammer was pretty brutal. Glad we visited the store though.

      It was our kind of cruising for sure. Quiet anchorages with amazing scenery.

    What a beautiful area, any salmon sharks? I suppose they would be seasonal, a small request from all us diesel heads, when starting the engines from cold could you vid or at least record the sound for us, and accaisional exhaust note, we are taking meds for it and my CPN says im getting better, but hopefully you will realise we need a fix/hit of diesel sound once in a while, lol

      It is gorgeous up there. I don't recall ever seeing any sharks up here short of dogfish though. We will do some good cold start videos for you although the new Cummins engines start pretty uneventfully 😁.

    Best bait for dungy crab is fish heads wired into your trap so they can't walk off with it.😊 I would also use more than one pot, better odds. Great scenery 😊.

    • @OnboardTangaroa
      @OnboardTangaroa  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We will have to try fish heads at some point. We have had good luck in the past with the raw chicken but it seemed through all of Clayoquot sound was dismal for crabbing. The scenery was indeed amazing though!

      @@OnboardTangaroa with chicken we had to use a wire mesh box, they sell them at major sporting goods. Because smaller fish can devour bait and escape the crab pot. It keeps the bait lasting longer, hanging in the pot keeps the smaller crabs from reaching it.

      Great to know! Janis is always trying to up her crab game.

      Thanks! It's always sad to see the garbage. When we are in Brentwood Bay we do our best to pick up any garbage floating around.

    Suggest you do not use the side of the dinghy as a fulcrum to pull up the crab trap ropes. Don't want to wear a hole in it, I would guess. But better luck next time for a few good crabs, although I prefer clams and prawns. Oh, and " motoring, what's your price for flight" Sister Christian! hahah good song.

      Sadly, this tender is not the best of quality. We have already had multiple seam failures that we have had to repair. I thing it will be long gone before we wear a hole through. A puller is on the list but its a bit down the list. I didn't understand the song reference till I went back and watched the video over again. After that I stuck in my head 😁. Thanks for watching!

    Did you look in to seaboard marine in California they build electronic gauge for cummins look in to it if it work for you engine there web is sbmar

      @OnboardTangaroa  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Love Seaboard. We have purchased several things from them for this repower. The guages would work but what I have planned will be a much more complete, integrated, and attractive solution. May take a while to get there though.

    do you still have the detroits?

    • @OnboardTangaroa
      @OnboardTangaroa  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We do still have them. We have been unsuccessful in selling them for months on multiple listing areas and even dropped the price to ridiculously cheap amounts to no avail. I am currently in the process of disassembling them and we will be selling off individual parts. It has been fun digging into them and seeing how they are internally.

    Can't help but to think that maybe the bathtubs may have been used by kids to float in doubtful but just a thought.

      Maybe at one point. They were pretty holey at this point though.

    scared to death of being on water but always wanted to live on one and just fish all day but i dought i could get a license medical reasons not sure if need anything more then a passport to go to canada

    • @OnboardTangaroa
      @OnboardTangaroa  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is a pretty awesome lifestyle. It can definitely be daunting at first though. I don't believe there are any medical requirements for a basic pleasure craft license. A passport is all you need to visit Canada as well. We love it!
