Love these baskets!!! Thank you thank you thank you for breaking down instructions for the small, medium and large separately in the pattern. I'll be making a ton of these for Christmas gifts!!!
Loved this tutorial! I didn't have any problems following along with the paper pattern from your site as a reference during the video. I used two strands of worsted cotton with a 6.0 mm hook and it made just the right size to hold a oui yogurt jar for rooting plants. 😊
Awww omg, I love that! If you want to share pics of your baskets and rats snuggling in them, I'd just love to see!! :D You can tag me on Instagram @sweetsofties!
thanks for the tutorial, you should adjust the camera though. can't see anything you're doing cause the camera is mostly filming your desk, not your hands :/
Thank you for the tutorial. I'm gonna try this with fleece strips. I do wish I could have seen your hands as you worked the stitches. The camera was a little too high. I'm new to crochet so I am learning the stitch names and how to do them.
i love this so much! i was wondering how wide the fabric strips are? my moms favorite sheet set wore out but i bet i can make this basket for her out of the parts that are still good! she would just die over this basket! love love love this! thanks so much!
Wow that’s an amazing idea; what a wonderful gift it would be for your mother! The chiffon ribbon yarn I used said it is cut in 1/4” to 1/2” strips. Some parts are thinner and others wider. Hope this helps!
@@SweetSofties yes, this helps a lot! thank you so much! maybe i will do a small test on both sizes and see which looks best! if it works out i'll be sure to share a pic in the facebook group!
Hey there! Does somebody have experience with using it as a plant hanger? I am wondering about watering the plant...do you put someting under it to catch excess water? And has anyone tried hanging these in the bathroom? I want to make a plant hanger for my sister's bathroom using cotton garn, will that work with the humidity? Thanks!
That's a good question...I'm not sure! I would say that it would probably be best to put in a plant that doesn't need a lot of water and doesn't have holes on the bottom of the pot, so you can make sure to keep the basket clean. (Unless you want it to be an outdoor basket.) I think using cotton yarn would be great for your needs!
So after each round I must NOT slip stitch to beginning of round? Is it just a continuous circle? I think that's why other people's, mine included are not lining up. Makes sense I suppose as each round we are not chaining one!!
This would look so cute in my kitchen...I'd like to make a small version to hold garlic bulbs! Will one skein of yarn make one basket of the size You just crocheted?
This basket would be awesome for holding garlic bulbs! And yes, I used one skein of Dark Good Yarn's Chiffon Ribbon Ombre yarn for a basket. I had some left over yarn from that skein too.
Hi! It's quite strong/sturdy as a crocheted item (can easily support potted plants, fruits, or what you'd like to fit inside), but I think it depends more on how you have it secured to the wall. Make sure you have a strong nail to hold up heavier objects, if you plan to put heavier things inside. Hope this helps!
there is a link to the written pattern on her blog right there on the description. its only for the small size though. other sizes are paid pattern link to ravelry
Hi Sonja, thanks for sharing your message. Clara's right, there's a link to the written pattern in the video description (www.sweetsofties.com/2019/12/teardrop-hanging-baskets.html). If you'd like the ad-free PDF pattern with all sizes (small, original, large), you can purchase it for a small fee in my Ravelry store: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/teardrop-hanging-baskets Hope this helps, thanks!
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm not sure... are you following the written pattern on my blog? Make sure you're decreasing in the latter rows so that the project begins folding in for a pouch look.
I’m not a beginner so i was able to follow up until row 4+5 you didn’t explain very well. I redid this planter twice and it didn’t come out right. Really upset 😢
I'm sorry! I noticed that the camera angle was off partway through the video before adjusting it. Apologies if the video seemed fast; I make it so that it won't be too boring to familiar beginners and intermediate crocheters, and so that they can pause the video if needed. My complete pattern videos (like this one) aren't suitable for new beginners to crochet because I don't teach how to make the different stitches; I simply show the stitches and the instruction. However, I plan to make some more videos explaining stitches in the future!
@@TheKazadoodle there are definitely other things going on. i just think if someone has a video tutorial that they would have the project in the video frame. i wasn’t being mean to this person about it, just letting them know. we all learn differently and i need to be able to visually follow things. please don’t assume that you know what is or isn’t easy for another person to understand, we’re all at different skill levels.

this is frustrating - her hands are mostly off camera which for a video tutorial is kind of unhelpful
Then don't watch it!!!
Very good...excellent

I sincerely apologize about that! I didn't notice until about halfway through crocheting that my camera angle was off. :(
pleaseeee adjust the camera @SweetSofties thanks!

When I have extra time I will work on redoing this video project!
Fantastic tutorial, thank you so much. Cute voice too☺️
Aww I'm so glad you enjoyed my tutorial, and thank you so much!!
So cute!
I made this and it turned out so beautiful.
So happy to hear it!
I was so hopeful for this but couldn't see the hands 😭
Bought your pdf to support
That's so kind of you! Thank you so much for supporting my small business!! :) Hope you have a fun time crocheting this basket!
You do it out of the shot!!
Love the basket...
Thank you so much!
Awesome video, very easy to follow we'll definitely be making many more
You're so kind, thank you dear!!
Will buy the yarn tomorrow. Love this basket.
Awesome! So glad you like this design! :) Happy crocheting!
Love to make this! The only thing is that your hands and work are hard to see as they’re just a bit low on the shot.
Thanks! So sorry about that. I didn't realize it until after...my apologies!
Love your Tutorial

If you have a spare/ old globe ceilng light cover, you can place one in these. Then, add air plant or light ivy for a hanging planter?

Awesome! The large one is about 12" in height and 7.5" in width!

It might be helpful if you place a small target on your work surface so you can keep your hands in the camera frame.
Where do I find the larger pattern...thank you
Hi, the larger pattern sizes are available in my store here: payhip.com/b/x7pw8

the camera is a little bit off the balance,i can barely see what you are doing
Just a thought, moving your camera up might be helpful 😊
just to let you know, on your blogpost, the link to the ravelry paid pdf links to a fox hood, not this one
Oh yikes, thanks for the heads up!! I have gone in and fixed it. I really appreciate you letting me know!
Can't see it very well as you have your camera not on you hands I can only see the tip of your hook also your going to fast to keep up with

Cant follow, you didnt film what you were doing
This video shows only the tops of your fingers and not much of your project construction. You are holding your work too low for the camera to capture.
Your camera is in a bad position????
do on camera please us newbies need all help nec
Can’t see what you’re doing
You're 90% outside your camera range. I can't see what you're doing.
Well your hands are to low and you can't see the actual hook and yarn
Can't see much
